Hi I am a newbie of this forum and have a quick question.

I cannot find out a definite answer on whether the price of Jetstar tickets include free seat selection (as opposed to Air Asia where you need to pay extra $ to pre-assign seats).

Can anyone help to clarify this policy? I am planning to book a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on Jetstar.

Thanks for your help!

I am not sure if it is or not but hardly worth caring too much about if its not KUL-SIN is a very short hop. Of course i know you want to avoid the middle seat :)

Allocated seating

Passengers will be allocated a seat for all Jetstar flights. Seat preferences may be selected (subject to availability) at time of booking. However, the airline cannot guarantee you any particular seat. Final confirmation of your seat will be made at the airport.

And for any flight i have taken its been possible, but i am not sure if it differs by fare type....

I just tried to book a jetsaver light but i could not be bothered filling in all the forms but i did not see anything about paying for seat selection.
$85 SGD return, its a cheap flight these days. $15 base fare each way.

Exit row seats you have to pay for (unless on a JetFlex fare). I don't recall having to pay for Jetsaver/Jetsaver Light

Thanks for everyone's help. What I care is whether there is any hidden cost when comparing Jetstar with AirAsia. It seems like Jetstar beats Air Asia at this point.

Thanks again!

Jetstar's seating is free of charge, except if you choose an exit row where there is a fee.
As for hidden costs there are none. Unless you call a creditcard fee hidden?
Also 3k flights arrive at T1 at changi and leave from the main KL terminal (not low cost)

If your end destination is KL, I think the low cost terminal is better because the shuttles into Sentral are 1/3 the price. There's certainly more to do at the main terminal, but the low cost terminal has its advantages too.

T1 @ SIN = good due to lounge
KL terminal = i have no idea, i have never been to the budget one only the big one.
