Qantas flight credits

I'm just about to use my Qantas flight credits and I can't do it online and have to call (Big sigh)

It is for $599 - does anyone know if I can book a lower cost flight and keep the rest in credit or do I have to use it all at once?

Thanks - I did do a search and couldn't find this. It was before 30/9/21 so looks like I can use up in bits. It's just a pain having to call them
