Will Qantas have a March 2023 double status credit promotion?

But ideally they would drop some sales with the DSC
“Ideally”…but rarely. 😔

Even most of the reward seats I was eyeing off for DSCs (from PC) have been hoovered up like chips and seagulls during the alleged extra seats release.

I think there will be a J sale before DSC ... that's how I remember it ... usually book a sale J fare to NZ, DSC drops next day, call QF to cancel the sale J fare, book new J seats for DSC .. ;)

For fun, throw in some QBR sale seats etc ;)

this is what happened in 2020 ... just before you know what ...

I'm on a status credit diet so could use earning 50% less status credits now! 😂

Well last year there was a NZ sale (and that is great for a Status run); Id be happy with a NZ or Fiji sales to coincide. I also managed to pick up reward bookings for xmas travel last year in March too. One can hope.

Im just wanting to book something for the June long Weekend, October Long Weekend, Xmas Office Shutdown, Aus Day long weekend, maybe Easter next year depending on the cut-off dates.

Last year I was points rich, this year I've spent most of them so looking for paid fares that yield a good return.

Yeah, that NZ one was very popular I recall.

I think there's somewhat of a J sale on NZ right at the moment! I was looking at some stuff overnight, and found SYD to AKL/CHC/WLG for between $1,428 & $1,608 return in J. It might not be a sale like the ones of yesteryear, but it's a lot better than it's been! Even a J
return to the Gold Coast is more than that 'on sale' at the moment.

ZQN is a bit higher, but then they always are.
And check out the return to NOU - that's great value!

A Qantas SC and points diet would be good for everyone’s long term flying health, I suggest.
I don't know - all those pork pies and stale lollies from the QF Club is probably adding a couple years to my life expectancy! 😂

Actually, SYD-NOU return for ~$1k is the regular Sale fare (did it before Christmas).

$1.5k to NAN used to be common but gone missing…

I did NOU in the sale when the route opened up again last year, but I had to pay close to $1,600 rtn for our tickets (QF operated each way)

The recent Sales (only a few weeks ago)was $1k return for QF operated. A little more for SB codeshare.

Seems I picked the wrong sale :(
Yep. Just check the e-Ticket. $1300 ea return. Booked at the end of July for travel Sep/Oct. SB over (lunch in QF F Lounge) and QF back (so not too early a start).

The ~$1k J return Sale has popped up a few times since. If NOU wasn’t so expensive and the airport not so far away, it would make for a decent status run.

Pretty sure I paid $1.1k (Depart on 5th April on QF metal both wats) but yes NOU is best J value of late for a short flight, so may have to return there for another weekend if that price is available again.

Just checked and it was that higher price around $1.6K we paid; also in July... but maybe as we travelled in the school hols, the pricing wasn't as sharp as yours. Or I just lucked out. Meh.

Yep, the “Sale” seats went fast - we weren’t constrained by school hols even though we still managed to travel during the back end of them…😳

Staying slightly OT, I haven’t seen any useful/practical status runs (and DSC) opportunities flying beyond NOU. The QF planes tend to return to their origin, so something like BNE to MEL via NOU doesn’t work…

Well, you should be able to do SYD-BNE-NOU-BNE-SYD. I only every saw SYD-NOU and BNE-NOU on sale.

NAN would be great, last year outside the DSC SY-NAN in J return on QF was $1.3k

I would want to make a 3-5 day weekend out of any trip, not just a pure status run.
