Hi prognosticators,
Any thoughts about QF doing a Feb 2023 double SC promotion? Do they want to generate more sales or are they content with the current loads?
If they do bring the DSC back, is it on any QF booking, regardless of metal flown? Could you fly EK or get a RWT ticket?

Do DSC generate more load or bring forward bookings that were going to be made anyway? To avail of a DSC you have to already have a good idea of your future plans.

@admin , would the Qantas forum be applicable for this thread, perhaps?

The logical follow-on question is whether there will be any sales in the autumn, too? I have couple of trips to book for mid-year and am willing to wait in case there will be a decent sale coming in Mar/Apr timeframe (e.g. right after Easter).

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I have a conf in Sept which would involve flying QF 1 rtn in J....just need a dble SC promo prior to booking!

I’d just be happy with a LHR J Sale but not holding my breath. Currently researching more exotic options for a June/July….

I'd be surprised if there would be one during this period to be honest. Demand is already through the roof (just look at how full flights are and high fares - on all carriers not just QF) so the desire to stimulate demand is probably not there - at least in the short term. In addition, status extensions are still valid up to June 2024 (for those June anniversary pax) so there's not going to be a lot of incentive for a bunch of flyers to go for DSC - unless planning in the medium term).

Really though I think current demand is the key here - these promotions are usually about short term yield and bookings for QF - and well honestly they probably don't really need that right now.

Of course things can change but I'd imagine current forward bookings are looking pretty good for QF.

(happy to be proven wrong!)

Any thoughts on maybe DSC to tidy up the last of the Credits & Passes? Double points doesn't interest me, I'm chasing SC so I'm holding on the Credits & Passes hoping for DSC offer to use the.

A targeted DSC for us July anniversary dates would be most welcome… 😔

Hopefully 😁

At this stage those with expiries July onwards need to earn the SC to retain. If there is not a DSC offer this year or a surprise further round of status extensions then my status will likely drop back down.

The credits would already have a PNR attached to them, wouldn't they. I.e. they would not earn DCS's in their own right. But, if there's a way to create a new booking and use the credit or pass as a payment, then it'd work.

UATP credits are independent of the previous PNR(s) - so they would be fine.

That's good news. I have a $300 UATP expiring Dec23. Will hold off on using it until Nov23, in case a DSC pops up
Hopefully before then or some other offer turns up.

But yep they’re effectively like a stored value Debut Card. You might still have an old Zombie PNR lurking in your credit voucher list that was converted to a UATP(s) but you’ll get new PNR(s) each time you use it.

Beg to differ, as someone with a july 31 anniversary, there is no further staus extensions. As im on track to be WP from last offer, and wanting to fly international in August, i (and anyone else with a Jul to Dec anniversary) would love to be able to forward plan kickstarting the new ff year with DSC.

Given high prices ive held off booking anything beyond Easter hanging for something to sweeten the deal.

FyI My UTAP credits came with DSCs so already used.

And that's why I wrote about lack of incentive for a "bunch" of people (namely Jan-Jun folks) and not "all." I'm an August, so I'm in your boat so to speak and get it.

My point was more that these promos are intended to get short term revenue for QF by people booking trips during a short window. Now smarter people such as AFFers plan and hold off (if they can) to take advantage of such things, or find other magical ways to take advantage, but in terms of the general intent these promos are geared to it's people possibly making quick decisions on short-medium term trips (Remember those planning on status longer term such as members of AFF are in the minority of who QF is aiming such promos at). So anyway with that in mind pushing out a promo in say Feb may not gain QF the bookings they may expect based on the current environment with status.

Really though I feel my other thought is far more important - in that demand is still very high so QF doesn't *need* to stimulate demand with such promos (also why reasonable sales are few and far between currently).

(I'd also add in here the recent DP promo *to use travel credits* - an pretty transparent use of such a promo to reach a goal - for both the airline and customers)

AGree with this point that the demand is very high and there is no need to stimulate demand. And if QF doesn't want Jul-Dec anniversaries to retain their tier (in other words, let them slip to a tier below, overcrowding of lounges, more WP and above, more points liability etc), they sure won't be releasing a DSC ... I'm a Dec anniversary, so in the same boat

Alternatively, if QF wanted to give a *special* recognition to us unfortunates (Jul-Dec folks), they can give us a DSC and we shall make the best use of it

Note: acknowledge that points liability can also happen with spend on ground, not necessarily 100% WP bonus
