We are travelling from BNE to WLG via AKL later this week. The BNE to AKL leg is on QF, and the AKL to WLG is on Air NZ as a QF Codeshare. Is baggage is checked through all the way through to WLG ? The QF website states that there is baggage through check from the Qantas operated flight but I would have thought we would collect bags in AKL, pass customs then either re-check them in at the Air NZ domestic transfer or take them to the AKL domestic terminal as there is a "shortish" 1 hour 40 minute layover. Thanks.

It's still considered through check as the bags will be tagged to you final destination, but you do have to collect and clear customs, then return to the airline bag drop.
