Re: 25% off Priority Privilege joining fee

does anyone know if there is any discount to join PRIORITY PRIVILLAGE for frequent flyer members. :D

Welcome to AFF. I wonder if a mod may be able to change your AFF handle, as you may get a lot of spam by using your e-mail address as a handle.

March PP deals are out and there are some good ones:

Priority Privilege ANZ March E-Newsletter

I wont reprint them here but the best ones are:

IC Burswood and Melbourne - BOGO with no cert ( I booked Melbourne for an avaerage rate of $130 using this special - i prefer ICs where available owing to the Royal Ambassador Benefits and last month at Melbourne was a great stay as just a Ambassador )
CP Alice Springs, Darwin, Darling Harbour, Hunter Valley, Melbourne, Paramatta, Surfers, Terrigal also BOGO no cert needed
HI Cairns - No certs needed (including BOGO) but bring a rain coat!
HI Darling Harb, Old Syd, Potts POint and Sydney Airport - BOGO no cert

Worst Offer
CP Northwest - $10 to upgrade to a balcony - ?????

I have a question regarding the BOGO offer in Priority Privilege (PP) monthly newsletter - it said 2for1 and keep your certificate.

I am a member of PP and have not used my BOGO certificate on any hotel stay yet. The question is what if I have already used my only BOGO certificate which came with the PP membership, can I still take advantage of the 2for1 offer in the PP monthly newsletter? I phoned PP and they said no! - because I have to show my BOGO certificate and they will return it to me. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Given it said "2for1 and keep your certificate" I would assume that what you were told on the telephone was correct.

I have yet to have any need to show my certificate on these deals, and I have used around 5 now, the last being at the IC in Melbourne last week.

Thanks, flashware and markis10, for your replies.

The thing is that I am planning to use my BOGO certificate at the end of this month at Crowne Plaza hotel in Newcastle. If I use the certificate, then this may mean I won't be able to use any 2for1 offer in the future. :(

It seems to be a big case of YMMV but as per markis10's post; I'd probably be quite willing to take the risk.

For those that didn't notice, or know....

You can get 1699 Velocity Reward Points for joining PP.

Velocity SHOP & EARN site states PP Membership @ $289. in order to get the 1699 Velocity Points. Is this the correct rate for new applicants for PP ?? Or is it an inflated price, to cover the Velocity Points ??

GORDO

In Canberra last week I was actually asked about for certificate. I mentioned that the current special was that I didn't have to give them the certificate and all was OK. She would have accepted the certificate if I had not spoken up.

I've been asked for a certificate when using the standard 10% off rates before, so I think some reservations staff just put 'Get Certificate' in the notes whenever they see PP rates. Now 10% off certificated don't even exist (AFAIK), and last time it happened my lack of certificate got escalated to the duty manager. Fortunately she took one look at the resevation and said the rate didn't require a certificate.

Slightly OT.

Are points allocated when using BOGO's :?:

Officially, yes. But you can get into an email war with PC before you get them :)

(In any case, the first night is the paid night, so they don't have much argument not to give you points for at least that night)

Thanks guys.

The stay last week in Canberra is showing as a qualifying stay but with no points allocated :!:

I'll give them a day or two then follow up.
