1 hour 20 minute international transfer in Saigon - do-able?

Google flights has thrown up a doozy of a way to get home including a transfer from EK to Vietnam Airlines in Saigon that has a 1 hour 20 minute transit time. I've never been to Saigon before so I've got no idea what the airport is like - is 1 hour 20 minutes normally enough for that in Saigon if the Emirates flight lands on time?

If your bags are checked through then it’s a breeze but as I’m presuming you would have to collect bags and check in again I’d wish you good luck.
Having been through SGN a number of times I wouldn’t attempt it

If it’s all on one ticket your bags should be checked through. Unless google flights has listed ‘separate tickets’?

All on one ticket I believe. Thankfully though I seem to have found an option with a bit more time between flights now.

Will EK check through and do they have an interline agreement with VN?
I honestly don’t know the answer to that.
If they do that’s great but I’d want to be certain first otherwise you need visa and collect bags and check in again which I wouldn’t attempt in under 2hrs at SGN. If they will however check through than the transfer desk is a breeze
