Changes to flight times require traveller to accept but no communication issued + min connection in SYD

Two concerns about my upcoming trip flying JL from CDG-HND-SYD (then QF to MEL) in December for which I redeemed QF points to fly in J. Perhaps you all can offer some reassurance or appropriate course of action.

1) I discovered a note in MMB today that the departure time of the second leg (JL51) has changed from 18:40 to 18:25 and that I was required to accept the change. I did this and had to reselect my seat because my original selection had been ditched (which I find odd because the aircraft type hasn't changed). My ticket was reissued. Given all the issues with people are reporting with being downgraded recently

I find it odd that no mail was sent given the change required me to accept them. I haven't had to do this for a time change before - has anyone else had this happen?

2) I only have a 1hr30min transit in SYD before flying to MEL. Given the recent increase in minimum connection times I am now concerned I won't make the connection. I assume QF will just put me onto a later flight if this is the case and I can make use of the lounge if I have to wait. I have no desire to contact the call centre to proactively change the flight now in case they "accidentally" cancel my whole booking! Thoughts?

Is it all one ticket ? If so I would leave it as SYD-MEL is not so critical and Qantas should put you on a later flight if the connection time falls apart due to late arrival into SYD etc. Having said that it will be a tight connection.

Yes, all one ticket.

Then it's not a problem. There are frequent SYD-MEL services and QF staff at the transfer desk have wide discretion for pax arriving from a overseas flight who are connecting to a domestic flight on the same ticket.

A second flight time has been amended. Again no communication from JAL or QF. This time I was alerted by Check My Trip which I signed up for after the above (big thanks AFF community for putting me onto that.)

My CDG-HND leg (JL46) is now two hours longer than previously. I assume that they are updating times to avoid hostile airspace. Unless anyone has any other intel? (I booked this flight in March.)

What's the minimum connection from INt,-DOM. No guarantees they're the same in both directions

I am more concerned at the lack of communication regarding flight time changes, especially as these require the traveler to accept the changes before tickets are reissued.

(I've looked but I can't find the minimum INT-DOM connection time anywhere. I'm not really concerned, as others have pointed out, I'll be placed on a later flight...although I guess quite possibly in J.)

The other interesting thing about these “small” changes is once you’re required to accept a change in MMB, you’re then locked out of using MMB to make any changes to your booking online - you must go through the call centre at that point.

At SYD it is 90 minutes (last line):

Forget the baggage issue... The big problem is queues at Sydney international.

If I was flying economy, I'd want a minimum connection of 3 hours.

It's chaos. Still.
