Hey guys, I have a flight with Singapore Airlines from Perth to Kuala Lumpur (Transit via Singapore), and on the same day arrival at Kuala Lumpur I have also booked another Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching.

I would like to know if I can interline my checked baggage all the way from Perth to Kuching? Since the flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching is operated from Malaysia Airlines?

Should not be a problem - I have SQ MEL-SIN-CDG and then KL CDG-AMS Oct 25 - I have checked with SQ MEL Station and reassured by Station Manager will not be a problem so I can’t see yours being a problem

Thanks a lot for the info, did you transit through kuala lumpur on any leg of the journey? I see you did through singapore but cant see where Kuala lumpur or malaysia airlines fit in ?

Confident that SQ will through check bags to MH, however you might want to understand a bit more about the situation when transferring from international to domestic at KUL. I think it's OK, but my confidence level is lower than if, for example you were taking MH to BKK instead of KCH.

I do know there's a bit of queue going from international to domestic so the transit time i got there is around 3 hours which i think should be enough for that?

bbm - response from SQ:
Provided his flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur is operated by Singapore Airlines, then we can add his connection Kuala Lumpur to Kuching. We will able to through tag the bag, but he will need to collect his boarding pass in Kuala Lumpur (as we do not have an agreement with MH to issue boarding passes).
If his flight Singapore to Kuala Lumper is a codeshare flight operated by Scoot, then we cannot add any connections.

Connecting flights need to be within minimum connecting time.
Hope this helps and sorry for delay 👍

Thanks a lot for remembering me and the update!
Yes Perth to KUL are all operated by SIA so I guess it's all good then, just pick up the ticket from transit desk over at KUL airport I assume.
