The COVID-19 vaccine rollout in Australia has begun

My mother had AZ for the first two shots. Had a bit of reaction, but not too bad. The Pz booster she had the other day is knocking the daylights out of her.

And yet my MUma nd Dad both had 2 AZ followed by Pfizer booster and no ill effects at all.

I had my 3rd Pfizer today and so far none of the tiredness that came with dose 2, so my post hold true that a 3rd Pfizer has lesser side effets thant he 2nd Pfizer.

I guess that could be seen by some as proof of a god.

Nah, just proof of the stupidity of anti vaxers.

WA becomes first state to mandate booster shots

More than one million West Australian workers will be required to get vaccine booster shots, under an expanded mandate announced by the WA Government.

All workers who were previously required to get two doses of the jab will now also be required to get a booster shot within one month of becoming eligible.

It makes WA the first state to mandate booster shots.

Man, I have such a massive problem with mandating boosters. When will it be up to the individual to decide what they choose?

Maybe if the clown opened his border it would be even moderately understandable.

Can’t they just focus on completing their first and second doses for crying out loud so they can free their imprisoned residents!

So SA's major Vaccination hub was going to be closed for 10 days for a Christmas break essential maintenance work. Starting today. It was closed. Stupid. It is now going to be open from Boxing Day. Guess that essential maintenance work wasn't so essential after all.

But like how the QP's used to close up for "maintenance" then would return after New year and no one had even vacuumed the carpet...

The natural extension is that the border will be kept closed until the proportion of triple-dosed people is deemed sufficient. By which time people will well and truly be talking about the *next* booster.

And as no one from anywhere else in the world is allowed into WA without excessive quarantine they are the State with the least need for boosters.

No chance WA will open in 6 weeks time.

Boosters compulsory within a month of being eligible, Jesus Christ.

MClown instructing residents exactly what to do while the PM at least trying to put responsibility & common sense on the residents. Polar opposites!

Well I for one can't wait to hear the boos a certain tennis player is going to get everytime he plays in the Aus Open.....
The medical exemptions that I know of are anaphylaxis response to previous vaccination (unlikely as he's a known antivaxxer), or serious medical conditions that would likely render him unable to play tennis at this level. Any others? If he's just recovered from another Covid infection would that would give him an exemption? And he holds Covid parties?

just recovered from another Covid infection
I believe this one is most probable scenario for Joko.
But this obvious reason could be used by waaay more tennis players then just 26 who applied for AO medical exemption. Only in recent tournament in Dubai many players were infected.
Main question for AO organizers why so obvious reason to get exemption wasn't clearly communicated to the world earlier? Instead they were firmly stating no jab=no play.
Hence public backlash as mass opinion expectation were made up this way.
Very poor PR strategy by AO actually damaging reputation for whole of Australia now

As an avid tennis enthusiast and supported of the AO, after the appalling "medical exemption" for the rich and famous, I will not be watching any match in which the Joker is playing this year.

Well you could watch and cheer his opponent ? Aussies can make a lot of noise. Go RAFA!

Seems everyone and their dog wants 3rd booster shot currently. No chance of a walk in appointment 125 kms around Canberra. Left my number for ACT AIS appointment at 7am and no callback as yet. I wish they could just say you are number 8372nd in the queue or whatever. I conclude there is a supply shortage. I suspect it was first come first served for those that went with the program.

Meanwhile John Campbell of Covid talkies - I pharaphrase - dont take Paracetamol if you catch it - let the fever amplify its purpose, and 4000 I.U of vit D was debated. I do not know if any Australian hospitals are whacking new arrivals with high levels of Calcerfotrol , as did some in Spain. It reduced demand, ICU beds. Imagine that. NT and WA should consider that idea, given that elimination is now assured of going ballistic, with high breakthrough rates. I don't feel sorry for the fence-sitters by-choice.

The take home message is Omicron is mild for most, much milder than Delta. So let it rip is not so bad. Meanwhile my friend are hunkering down at home, afraid to go out, not spending any money at the shops or Hardware box stores.

Marshall reported today that 20,000 vaccinations were done here yesterday. Our usual good day is around 14,000. Don't know if boosters or other though.

Appreciate letting fevers do their work but escalating temperatures can set off other poor outcomes.
