In a little over a week we are arriving in SIN at around 8am after an overnight QF flight from LHR as part of our DONE4. Later that same night we are flying on JAL to NRT.

I have been told that QF will be able to check our luggage all the way through to NRT because the flights are all on the same PNR.

My question is, what is the best option for taking a shower at or around the airport before heading into the city? Previously during a morning arrival in HKG I thought that I saw some people who were connecting through to SYD go into the lounge before passing through immigration. If our luggage is checked through to NRT then we will already have our JAL boarding passes so is this the best option?

Aren't you flying into SIN not HKG though? Even with a 1 hour transit, it is quite easy to pop in and grab a shower in the QP so I would be doing that.

you should be able to pop into lounge and have a shower before heading off. wouldn't it be easier just to fly directly to NRT on BA or JL rather than spend all day connecting?

Hi Homer,

You can grab a nice shower at the Ambassador Transit Hotel at Singapore's Changi Airport. This is all air side (transit side).
They have 2 options:

Terminal 1
Level 3 at the split leading to Gates E20-28 and D30-39

Terminal 2:
Level 3 at the split leading to Gates F50-59 and F30-42

I'm not sure about Terminal 3.

A shower will cost you about SGD 9.00 but you can pretty much pay in any currency. Just rock up. The price includes a free non-alcoholic beverage ;). They'll give you elcheapo shaving gear, toothbrush etc if you request them.

If you'd like to book in to the hotel for a few hours kip then you can pay SGD 40 / SGD 58 for 6 hours in a budget room / standard room. If you want the room it is best to book it on:
Terminal 1: +65 65425538
Terminal 2: +65 65426122

But you can always just rock up and try your luck.

So.....Good luck

First off, Singapore is an open airport, so you already have access to the departures area before you leave the airport.

The Qantas (business) lounge is open from 6:30am. You'll get access via your WP status + one guest, or through your JAL boarding passes.

You should then be able to clear immigration etc and spend your day in town, before heading back to the airport and having another shower if required.

The J lounge should be open, F lounge may be. In any case you will be able to have a shower and a light repast before heading out to Town.

<..>, before heading back to the airport and having another shower if required.

What Mal said and just to add..... Its Singapore, you will be wanting that other show i think ;)

Thank you to all who replied. We will use one of the lounges. Is the QF lounge the best option or is there a better lounge at SIN?

Yep, absolutely, however then I wouldn't get to fly on QF's A380. Maybe I'm crazy for routing it this way...but if so then at least I am in the right place. ;)

For what it's worth, and for reference for anybody who may access this thread in future, Plaza Premium Lounge has landside access to showers for $9 SGD also on the arrivals level of T3. Useful for those who have to collect/recheck or store luggage, or even for those who have hotel checkins at 3pm...

And Homer - QF lounge is the best in the oneworld camp (are there any others? I know CX uses contracted lounge, that leaves JL).

The QF lounge is generally the best OneWorld lounge in SIN. The showers are good.

Isn't the Skyview Lounge the CX lounge?

Yes, and i think JL also use it now, Finnair used to use it when they flew HEL-BKK-SIN route, oh miss those OW fligths to BKK.

I always go directly to the QF Flounge.

So do I, but I found on Friday 10th at 2pm that it opens at 3pm (We were on a CX flight to BKK, departing 4pm).

So a quick shower in the QF J lounge then off to the Skyview.
