Qantas Classic Reward Ticketing Delays

They'll say it's another Dept that issues the tickets. Usual handball.
To be honest, it is another department that issues the ticket (99% of the time it's an automatic droid, the other 1% is manual intervention by someone NOT in the call centre or their team leaders). Contact centre agents cannot 'issue' the ticket, if they did, QF would have to pay them more money.

There’s a wait, like most things with QF, as they go in a queue. Hopefully, it’s prioritised for action based on departure date?? But I was told that it would take time & to be patient & hang tight.

Took just over 2 weeks for a points redemption, changed by them, to and amended again. Unfortunately, the rebooked itinerary timings were a joke, involved an overnight stay and had to be re ticketed.

Seats booked using points are going to apparently be refunded via $ refund to cc. Not sure why. Hope I don’t have to call back in 2 months (as we all know lengthy wait for Qantas taxes and charges to be refunded whilst they use your $) to follow that up.

Great that wait times are reducing- shame that it took a lot of negative press that QF have received in the media for them to do anything about it.

Hi all,

I booked a reward ticket on Friday evening flying first class emirates to Jordan. I’ve been issued the six digit booking number which appears in both the QF and emirates app but the emirates app is stating that it hasn’t been ticketed yet so seat selection can’t be made. I also booked another first class ticket to Oman which was ticketed pretty much straight away and points deducted instantly. Should I be phoning the call centre and spending the time on hold or is it normal for some flights to take a few days? I’m concerned that emirates could cancel it on their end? I apologise, this is the first time I’m using my QFF balance so the answer might be blindingly obvious.

Thanks for the reply. I spent my hour lunch break today on hold without speaking to anyone so had to hang up. I'm now still on hold on my second attempt. Its going to be a long night...

After 2 hours on the phone I got a bloke who sounded like he had a heavy South African accent. Not sure where the call centre is based but they must be flat out regardless. He fixed the problem right away and I was immediately able to see seat selection, menu, etc on the emirates app. Not too impressed with the wait times but I can understand that there would be a lot happening now that borders are opening.

Qantas has call centres in Cape Town, South Africa as well as Hobart TAS and Manila, Philippines.

I am not sure the South African expat population in Hobart but I think we can fairly well asssume which one you got :)

Well I’m terrible with names so I don’t remember but he was great. Quick and easy resolution despite the long waits which can’t be avoided anyway.

What time did you start the call?

I have the exact same problem with business reward fare and now the pending cc transaction has dropped off without charge. I've spent hrs on hold over multiple days to be disconnected before answered every time.

I'm currently on hold as I type but only unto 75mins so a way to go before disconnect!

Thanks, I tried last last Thur, same time, disconnected at 7.45pm and then again another two times up to 3am. So frustrating. 100mins now 🥴
It's been said more than enough times, but this is really a totally unforgiveable situation with QF...

I bought a non-reward ticket this morning using a flight credit. Just a simple domestic return flight. 11 hours later it is still not ticketed and in MMB it says "Your booking is processing". Is this normal?

Edit: I called Qantas (only a 10min wait yay!) and they said this is normal. I was told to wait a couple more days.

Sorry for bumping this rather old thread, but I have a booking that still hasn't ticketed, and I'm trying to see how long I have until things get cancelled. Does anyone know the ticketing time for BA and MH award flights?

I’d call them now. Apparently the wait times aren’t too bad.
