At this point, NRL grand final should just be delayed and hold in Sydney in two weeks time.
What about this weekend in Sydney before a smallish crowd? The players and their WAGS can all fly in unrestricted.

While I don't wish the NRL this much disruption, and my team South Sydney are playing, I am definitly reaching for the popcorn right now to see how Queensland handles this.

Apparently the alternate is Townsville if there's an outbreak. Someone will be dusting off the business continuity plans as we speak.

On sport in NSW - the Matildas are playing later this month in Sydney, the Everest is coming back with a small crowd.

Word on the street is that Perth will lose it's Ashes test due to the hard border as Cricket Australia won't move Sydney and Melbourne and as you know, both states are at "People Are Dying In The Streets Zombie Apocalypse" levels of restrictions so the team would have to fly elsewhere for 14 days before they can enter Perth. Also, England are DONE with hotel quarantine having spend 200+ days in hotel rooms over the last 12 months.

Another slight surge in Victoria. Depending on the NSW results, today might be the day Victoria overtakes NSW.

Seems a bit of a stuff up with Victoria’s figures
These results included 9 cases reportable on 26 September and 140 cases reportable on 27 September. Those 149 cases are reported in today’s numbers – meaning today’s actual case number is 867

So in fact yesterday Victoria overtook NSW.

4 locally acquired in QLD
1 in community for 3 days
*His wife
*Truck driver in shared accommodation but been in community for about a week
*A person who completed 14 day quarantine but then tested positive (not concerned too much about this one)

Masks on indoors in Brisbane & Moreton bay.

More info from Jeanette Young at 10.30 (I think)

Truckies to be vaccinated

Reports this morning that in NSW hospitalisation and ICU are already improving and that the Burnett modelling is proving to be far too pessimistic.

I'm guessing that's because the vaccination rates in the LGAs of concern are sky high especially amongst older people.

The only thing dying in large numbers are our brain cells listening to these state premiers and their knee jerks reactions….

AP with a 9.45am presser, in advance of 10.30 CHO briefing.

I think the presser is to address our last place vaccination rates? They have come up with a smart plan to get everyone vaccinated faster?

This seems like a really good reason to actually call a press conference. I hope they have a really good plan!

I sure hope it’s not for our CHO to croak out some blah blah restrictions that most will ignore and for AP to blame NSW for existing (again).

It could be to tell the crowd at the NRL GF not to touch the ball if it goes in the crowd.
