the Travel Bank works far better and is innately less restrictive than Qantas' 'Voucher' system.
I cannot disagree with that however the Travel Bank ensures your money remains with the Bank of VA. With some creativity the QF voucher system can be used to get your money returned and not locked into the Bank of QF.

As a 'former frequent flyer' I was happy to leave my funds in the airlines banks as these would be used with regularity.

when you forget where you put your frequent flyer card holder, and wonder if you'll be able to get into the lounge without a card.
 
When you receive your new membership year FF card and you notice the expiry date has already past and the first thing that comes to mind is 'who cares'.

OT, why is that. I hate those stickers and they are the first thing I pull off. I generally dislike stickers on anything, my OCD tendencies also leade me to dislike people who leave branding labels that are loosely stitched to out side cuffs (normally left side) on suit jackets and overcoats.

I'd say there's overlap between the two threads - what used to be shameful is now our reality. Eg. 'Why fly direct when you can connect' is risky - my strict reading of the rules says transits even in red zones are ok but I'm not willing to risk being forced into quarantine or 'refused entry' (even when I'm just transiting), or trying to explain what a status run is to authorities.

I suppose I could think of some other things to know you're a former FF...
- you start to forget the name/face of the lounge angel/CSM and instead discover your neighbour's name for the first time
- you're withdrawing more from rather than depositing into the bank of accumulated toiletries
- your driver hasn't picked you up for so long they text saying they hope you'll be back soon
- for once your pockets aren't filled with old boarding passes
- you have to take out your own bins for once (and have no idea what week it is)
- you're using the Dan Murphy's and Uber Eats apps more than those for QF/VA
- you're watching more press conferences than safety videos
- you preempt the premiers/CHOs' words more than the script in the safety videos

Oh yes @flying fan - every single one of those.

The pandemic has brought me low too.

Sitting on a fat 90 SC at the halfway mark of my year and not even planning a status run. And not even caring.

Noticing a flight passing overhead instead of ignoring it.

Noticing the beauty of the contrail.

Making 80% of my flight sectors this year in a Grumman Tiger. Knowing where the toilets are at many small airfields rather than in the major terminals. Mr Seat0A being the baggage weigher and handler. Me providing the inflight rations and entertainment by asking really dumb GA questions and refusing to take the controls.
