Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Wow. Am jealous. Did you apply any of the strategies from this forum (like looking for ones with low volumes), or was it just plain luck?
Yes, went for something fairly low stocked, but im pretty sure I noticed some of them got 'restocked' so not really sure if that helped in the end

Smith & Hooper Merlot $22 at BB, it's a 4.3/5 rating. That's what's listed, Nick's gave it 94pts.

It seems like a good drop, anyone tried it? Just trying to see if anything worth buying. I assume spend $125 for $25 stacks with 30% CB!

Thanks, I managed 5 (+ a ring in) for $28.42/b - no WW 2K promo on my account

I have been watching them at my local since first mentioned here, and just dropped today - had been at $55 then $52.25 for a long time
My 5 are ‘13, they are in the original box - still sealed apart from one bit torn open to remove a bottle- so they have not been sitting on a shelf under fluorescent lights for half a decade, and being Tassie, unlikely to have been exposed to high temperatures.

Very happy :)

Fantastic vintage for Vat47!

Mine were mostly 2011 with two 2013 in the mix.

There are different listings for the Vat 47 on BWS - most of the ones people seemed to be clearing in Sydney today were 2011.

The ones I picked up a few weeks ago were 2015 and the order I had cancelled, I think from memory were 2011.

I got mix of 2010, 2011, 2013 from BNE and MEL.
One store also had 2012s in stock but said not included in the clearance. Opened 2011 last week which is presumably the weakest of the bunch and it was aged beautifully. IIRC from 2012 vintage onwards the winemaking technique changed which resulted in less oaky, more clear wines.

The William Patrick Shiraz 2016 is showing (as underwraps) as being available at my local DM in
Hobart but although it is showing as $19.90 a bottle I'm getting $285 for a case of 6 at checkout, I can easily spear around for a pick-up but not sure what is going on, can anyone enlighten me? cheers :)
Shows as $119.40 a case of 6 in cart. At checkout it shows as $285 but there is a promotional discount applied down the page to get to $119.40 for payment.

FWIW, I purchased a 6 pack earlier this year and while it is ok for $20, I'd be pretty upset if I paid $50. It was more savoury than fruit driven and whilst there is nothing wrong with it, it lacked that WOW factor that I seek in Barossa Shiraz. I would much rather (and I did today) go for for Grant Burge 2018 Filsell Shiraz for $24 or $22.33 if you are new to Cellar One. Just my 2 Mexican Pesos worth ..and of course YMMV!
