Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

That QF case would be recorded as oversea acquired though.

Yes as I stated is plus one to the graphic I posted.

However risk wise its is like a local case as they have travelled domestically and unlike international quarantine cases have not been in quarantine the whole period.

Most places had QR codes months before then. So majorty of businesses will need to change their systems.
Correct, but all they need to do is register and print out a QR code.

Most of those third party systems were allowing people to enter Donald Duck as their name.

For the bulk of people with a Driver's Licence that becomes a bit harder.

The ServiceNSW app is pretty easy to use for the individual - just scan and done - no entering details.
My only slight gripe is they've used an overly complex QR code, which means you need to be careful to get it to scan.

The real Donald Duck may be finding it difficult...

I registered for the Service NSW application, but as I have never had any prior intercation with service NSW (I dont have a drivers license or fishing license or receive any govenrment benefits) there was zero cross validation of the details i provided except an sms to the movile number. I could have (as could any minor and many other adults) registered with a fake name, a newly set up unused email.

If you have a license then yes it does validate you are real.

The more important thing is to ensure everyone actually signs in, some venues are brilliant at enforcing this, you have to show your check-in screen to be seated (i.e. Lyric Theatre) others dont.

Mobile numbers verification is a good safety add on even if nameis false

Not sure about NT, but most places would have 24/7 health protocols, including all public holidays and popular holiday periods.

No doubt they do have these in place, but the resources to staff mass testing centres with 5+ hour waits is going to put a strain on rosters. The testing staff also have families, and will want to do things to get ready for Christmas. I suppose they might also have to have staff 'in reserve' in case those currently resting came down with the virus and were unable to work.

A casual acquaintance with a relative in the Victorian Police was very angry at the ADF for turning down the request from Andrews for 300 soldiers to man his somewhat imaginary border to the north, because they were called back from leave to assist in the operation.

Personal emotional issues for that person aside, I'd have thought the anger be more suitably directed towards the government who relies on others for resources to implement their own knee-jerk policy agenda.

Good to see NSW low numbers again. People joke about gold standard but it's pretty cough*ing obvious, at least for now, that it is the diamond standard. I wonder if the government that had a strong hand in the deaths of 800+ of its constituents will continue to lecture those to the north.

Just on the QF Case;

Chant is asked whether the Qantas worker was tested when they arrived in Darwin.

She does not say whether they were, and says further details will come from the Northern Territory health department.

“We’ll be working with our colleagues in the Northern Territory health department,” she says.

To be clear, in New South Wales ... Even though pilots and other flight crew are allowed to isolate, self-isolate in their homes, in New South Wales, they are required to have a swab.
They can only on-fly or move anywhere in an empty plane. The crew need to be transported on an empty plane – not a domestic plane.”

Qantas worker who tested positive took domestic flight

Some more detail on that new announcement of a Qantas worker who has tested positive.
Chant said that he person flew from Darwin to Sydney on 18 December.
The worker “returned from overseas and flown in through Darwin”.
“And the person has flown on a domestic flight. That was a Qantas flight departing Darwin to Sydney on 18 December.
“This news has just come through so we don’t have the flight details and any other details, but we wanted to advise you of that.”

So has Qantas breached the rules?

Chant is sharing more information on that health worker who transported travellers.

It really is a surprise that her strain was linked to the northern beaches – not to the travellers she was transporting.

“Let me tell you,” Chant says. “We would have probably predicted that ... this transport worker acquired it through transporting an infectious patient.

“And I think that I said to you at the time – we’ve got to keep an open mind.”

She says this “highlights the fact of how important that genome sequencing is”.

We would have been pursuing one line of inquiry and this really narrows the line of inquiry.
The strain in the US returned travellers is very different from this strain [that she has].”

COMMENT: You might recall where a number of staff that tested positive who were working at Victorian Quarantine Hotel (Interstate travellers, local workers etc) in the latter part of the Second Wave when community spread was still rampant and the media went with it being a quarantine breach. All the workers were found to have been infected outside of their workplace.

I see the NSW health minister has converted you with his use of Diamond standard in describing contact tracing

Oh and many in other States still mock (not joke) the gold standard reference.

So has Qantas breached the rules?

Dr Chant did say the policy of repositioning airline staff on empty planes is a NSW Health policy and that otehr states/territories have their own policies. So we need NT to let us know what their rules are to answer this.

Has he? Must have seeped in to my sub-conscious!

But I think the point stands, they are on top of this, and confident they will remain so.

I’m guessing no breach as the rules started on tuesday.....but time will tell

Interestingly I’ve only entered my initials into the State Government one and it is linked to drivers licence and boat licence.

I think you'll find the repositioning rules for residemt airline workers has been in place before this week.

What changed this week was limiting the hotels at which foreign aircrew can stay.
