Whilst on the pinot theme, had another gippsland one, currently on spesh at Dannys from late twentees to $25 nett, the 2017 Lightfoot and Sons Myrtle Point pinot. A lovely wine nice cherries up front, great body, lingering flavours, not a single point out of place. Very well made indeed. Now in comparison to the Bellvale I would give the points to the Bellvale probably because it is slightly fuller but from memory, slightly sweeter and the Lightfoot would suit those who prefer a dryer styled pinot. But both certainly get above 8/10 from me. I plan to revisit the bellvale for sunday night dinner. The 2012 Blue label pinot for $12 at Bocaccios is still pretty good, in fact bang for buck it wins in this three horse race but we know it's not all about that. It's fruit flavour is a bit muted as you'd expect, it fits in the medium to full weighted style like the Lightfoot but there is a distracting, dry end taste which lingers on the palate. the other two are seamless, the twelve bucker isn't so for me, the bellvale is still the winner of the last seven variants. Then again that Gappled yarra valley one special as well. Has to be a champ versus challenger on these two later on. Can't wait till dinner time.
