Indeed and I would agree if what happens in and with the US was not so important to the future of a Democratic Australia.
We are entering a time of historic change as the US crumbles , Europe squabbles and we are likely left to the "gentle mercy" of Chinese thought cleansing.

The American political system , indeed much of the social fabric itself, presents as so toxic that a calm and reasoned approach is drowned in the cacophony of extremism.
The everyday American just turns off at the .. "baseless smears from psychotic leftist losers " and the "large helping of Trump Derangement Syndrome"
Ordinary American who know that their votes are all but worthless and so do not participate , despair that the the future of their nation , left or right , will be decided by rent a crowds seduced by impractical, divisive and unachievable sales pitches.

It appears not for some as they are in total denial about the facts and will ignore them to suit their purpose where it is evident from dozens of different sources with actual court cases, statements made, witnesses, legislative moves that the contrary to their position is the only logical conclusion.

It seems from afar US citizens are stuck between a rock and a hard place. A self serving lying criminal who's has proven incapable of leading a united nation and only purpose in life is to feather his own nest (and even fail at that mostly) and the alternative who seems a "nice" grandfather type but unable to show he can lead and may leave the country totally rudderless in a time when the country is in disarray and disintegrating from within.

It will be unfortunate for the world as a whole if, in the absence of a good choice, voters abstain in huge droves again and leave the voting to only those who are fervent "believers" on each side and the result is the current incumbent remaining to destroy of what is left of both the legitimacy of his own party and the the fabric of the country in general.
