They could simply compare the two parts of the car that they think have been copied and see if they're a very similar match or an exact match. I could imagine the second discoverer coming very close in design, with a few very minor differences, but not having an exact replica

That's true but what happens if another team or even Renault themselves want to view/witness or inspect the FIA's report on the Racing Point and Mercedes brake ducts?

Will it just be a case of 'Here is the verdict, trust us we are the FIA.' ?

I guess if you don't have faith in the process, why are you racing? That sort of thinking. There shouldn't need to be a conspiracy

I tend to FF through the race these days. Just makes the cars go faster and shortens the time but the excitement is the same.

Sergio Perez out for the next two races (well most likely) after testing positive to 'Rona.

Going to be very interesting on a few fronts:
- who else will test positive?
- who will they put in his seat?
- will there be some tightening of freedoms for drivers? They've reportedly been quite laid back in between races travelling back to Monaco etc where most tend to reside. (laid back is probably poor word choice)

Unlikely, because Mercedes and Red Bull (with last years Mercedes model Racing Point next), but Q3 is likely/possible.

It was a bit weird with the 30 minute Kayo 'mini' getting to lap 48 (of 52) with still 18 minutes remaining. (90% of the race with 55% of the program still to go).

Yeah agreed, it all seems a bit silly that they are deemed to be illegal but now you can keep using them.

Racing Point were fined €200,000 for fielding Sergio Perez’s car in Styria and the same amount for fielding Lance Stroll’s. They were also deducted 7.5 world championship points per car - though Perez and Stroll keep their drivers' championship points. Protests for the Hungarian and British Grands Prix were also upheld, with Racing Point reprimanded for using their car in both events.

Despite the ruling, Racing Point will continue to use the brake ducts going forward, starting with this weekend's 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. This is because the stewards acknowledged that it was not realistic to expect Racing Point to "re‐design or re‐engineer the BDs in a way that would effectively require them to 'unlearn' what they already know."
