Hot dogs in the BNE domestic lounge tonight (Friday) which were very popular as always but replenished quickly.

Beer fridge was looking a little empty but 4 Pines on tap was flowing freely. Must have been a big week for many in Brissie. 😂

Sydney lounge continues to be vegetarian only hot options every time I'm there. The so called thai chicken soup had zero chicken in it. Either I'm very unlucky or the manager there must be a vegan/vegetarian lol
I overheard a guy say the same thing to a staff member in the Melbourne lounge last night: “do you every serve meat in here, or are you all hippies?”
They were serving soup (I think mushroom? I went for the toastie option) and nasi goreng last night. The lack of meat didn’t stop him for going back for thirds of the soup.

Meat, protein is too expensive and the lack thereof in the lounges probably a result of cost cutting.

And no, hot dogs/cheap sausages do not qualify as meat - if anyone went to a food processor and saw the absolute cough they stuff in hot dogs you would probably vomit exorcist style and never touch them again 😂 Plus being carcinogenic you know... lovely.

Yup I guess with the number of people they manage to stuff into the sydney lounge it would be cost prohibitive.

I don't mind the pumpkin soup at all esp when the bread rolls are fresh. I'm not allergic to veggies lol. But just don't call a dish chicken such and such when we all know there is nothing even resembling chicken contained therein.

Pulled beef taco for dinner in the SYD lounge downstairs and vegetarian fried rice upstairs...

And creamy lemon risotto in the BNE lounge tonight

Koyomi Highball / Shochu has been available in the BNE, SYD and MEL lounges for a few months now if you wanted to try something a little different. Only 0.8 standard drinks per can but still very enjoyable IMO.
