Blocking posts by specific members

Question for the mods. Has it even been considered adding an option to block the posts of specific members from your feed? I really enjoy being part of this community but there’s an increasing number of posts that I’m finding offensive. The privilege of some people is astounding. I see a name and move past it but I’d really just like to remove some members from my feed altogether. Maybe I’m just an overly sensitive... boomer

I believe there's an option to "ignore" a poster if you click on their profile

Click the member's icon and when their profile pop up appears, click "Ignore" (Highlighted here):

I have also needed to ignore a number of other users...

The prior version of the forum software still showed that posts and threads made by an ignored user existed, but hid the content of that post and provided a link to display it.
The current version of the forum does not show posts or threads created by an ignored user, instead creating a "show ignored content" link near the end of the page where an ignored post/thread would exist.
This means that you can not see threads created by ignored users, including content in that thread by non ignored users, without clicking the "show ignored content" link, however ignored posts will still show up on the "newest post" on the forums main page.

We can block users but I’m wondering if we can block threads as well?

My view is that the blocking facility is overtly discriminatory and denies natural justice.
I understand that folks wish to do it and I have no issue if they choose to do so.
My objection is that the process is secretive ; it should be transparent to all parties

I don’t actually want to block the whole playground thread, especially the grammar thread I find that entertaining and informative. . But to me, a lot of the others are clutter. If it is an option to block the whole playground, can we break it down and just block some threads?

That’s not the same as blocking a thread, but I appreciate that is the logical way to ignore something. This is what we tell members to do.

Your wording suggested you had come across something different.
