"Get closer to your dream trip, with international Economy reward seats for less points." Shall I point out grammar to QF?

Not strictly grammar, but this does still seem the most appropriate place:

Listening to someone from a Life Saving organisation on the radio talking about an increase in the number of Australians who have drowned in the past year. She went on to say that, “...for every person who drowns in Australia, another ten are taken to hospital following a non-fatal drowning incident.” 🤔

She went on to say that, “...for every person who drowns in Australia, another ten are taken to hospital following a non-fatal drowning incident.” 🤔

Although the final meaning can be derived, that statement is so confusing from so many different angles.

Do people who drown cause other people to go to hospital?

Do people who drown cause non-fatal incidents elsewhere?

here's another one (Lucy Dean of Yahh Australia's "news room" - haha - who doesn't know the difference between 'stationary' and 'stationery'.

The mistake is repeated.

One wonders whether these articles are ever reviewed by a subeditor:

Who do we blame? Her teachers? Herself? Parents?

Watching Four Corners on literacy and children in school, I hear a professor of education at SYD Uni say that children are “disinterested” (unbiased). I’m fairly sure she meant they were uninterested in grammar, literacy and reading.

It's heart rending, or stomach wrenching.

As I sat in the coffee shop, noticed a 3 year watching some cr*p on the phone the whole time I was there. Another sad little person who will have trouble at school.

What amazes me about the quote was that one mango tree in 10 was left standing!
I could be pedantic here and say that actually 9 out of 10 mango trees were left standing: the original meaning of decimate was to reduce BY 1/10th, now altered to sound better and more dramatic that an event is reduced TO 1/10th.
