Vinomofo Wine Deals

Leading to Sparkling White 2014 – Black Market Deal #31164 being Sidewood CHLOE CUVÉE LATE DISGORGED. Don't let me put anyone off, but I'm not a fan of hyper-yeastiness.

Note that all the awards claimed for this wine are actually for the standard Chloe Cuvee ($32/$25.60 direct) of which there were two releases at 30 months on lees and 46 months on lees. Many of the awards seem to be for the 30 month wine.

Apologies for the tardy reply - it's OK. To my mind signs of being over cropped & over extracted. A bit thin overall not complemented by grainy tannins. But good at the price. I've previously tried their 777 PN & was underwhelmed given the accolades.

Furthermore the black market Riesling in
Riesling Lineup is Auntsfield just blossoming into a lovely aged Riesling. Not normally my style with lush fruit flavours but it is crucially not sweet.

Any ideas on the 'Beyond the Black Market' 2017 Coonawarra Shiraz? Allegedly 50 down to 14.

May be Penley

Yeah, it's definitely the Late Disgorged, but the awards listed are not actually for that specific wine, they may or may not still be relevant to the wine being offered.

Just cracked a Sidewood tonight and have to say I'm quite disappointed. It's very simple with no complexity or richness. It dissipates quickly. I was expecting so much more for 53 months on lees!

Well the Pinot Gris turned out to be Haselgrove Bella Vigna Pinot Gris, not what I was expecting, although if I done a little more research I would have found it in the mixed case. Can't find much in the way of reviews but I had credits and free shipping so I'm sure it will be adequate. The Sam Kim score threw me off, I didn't realise VM was paying for reviews ;)

In theory it's the winery paying Sam Kim for the reviews, but with some wines pretty much exclusive to VM, who knows.

Indeed it was the Bromley by Wolf Blass Shiraz.
Try a bottle. If you don't like it or think it worth the $15

It was $12 a bottle for me. And I have now opened one.

I'll probably get this all wrong but... for me it tastes like an old wine (it is 2015). It has the colour of an older wine - going a bit coppery. I didn't find it particularly luscious but it had an undeniable quality. It's a complex wine - at least for me! And it really seems to need breathing. I returned to last night's opened bottle this afternoon and for me it's an improved glass or two with lunch!

At $12/bottle, I'm not complaining!

Has anybody tried the Umamu 2012 Chardonnay. There seems to be no info about it online.

Vinomofo seem to have had a lot of Unamu of late, are they in liquidation?

Is anyone familiar with the Palandri Explorers 3 Oceans Shiraz? Gets decent reviews on Vivino.

Geeze thats a blast from the past that one. I think I bought that from them over 3 years ago. My review is 4 stars...but 3 years ago I was a lot more generous with my scoring, and a lot more naive in what a great wine was.

Still I do remember the price to quality ratio was quite high.
