PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

If someone has a bit of spare time could they please check QF71 PER-SIN 25/7/19.

Expertflyer shows one spare and some blocked left in J so I’m not liking my chances of an upgrade.

Thank you. I hope I get it. Will keep this thread posted

So I've got an update and it's not a good one :'(

I'm in the QF HKG lounge right now and I've been told that the flight is delayed from 19:40 to 21:00 and there are no business/ premium economy seats left for upgrades and all the cabins are overbooked !! looks like I'm not going to travel any kind of premium today.

Had a chat w/ the host and was able to secure a bulk-head window only.

BTW, if anyone is in the QF HKG lounge - let's catch up :)

Bummer. It looks like all four HK->AU flights are running as scheduled tonight, so no major disruptions that should have caused this (the small delay isn't really material). No cancellations on VA or CX either. There must be some group travel or other event that has elevated bookings higher than normal.

I think so too ... but QF128 is already re-scheduled 4 times so far.I just checked with the host and she says that the departure time now of QF128 is around 9 PM instead of 7:40 PM and all classes are fully booked

Hi all - could someone please help me with availability for this flight?

Looks reasonable. Good luck. Might be best to check again a bit closer

Thank you as always pjm99au - appeared to look ok on qantas. There are no reward seats available, but it did let me book 9 business class tickets. Would have rather liked to book reward biz seats. I'll take my chances and pay for economy seats in the hopes for an upgrade.

Could someone please update me on QF94 on the 26th? Really looking forward to a QF flight after the abysmal service and attitudes on AA.

Hey there,

Possible, probably too early to call. Check again about 5-6 days before departure after the P1 upgrades have been processed.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

The upgrade fairy tells me it's looking good at the moment but of course you never know how many late bookings or late upgrade requests may come in and scoring 3 upgrades is always harder than scoring 1! Good luck!

Could I please get the loadings for QF 11 SYD-LAX on 6/08 next week?

And for bonus points, any opinion from the brains trust of chances for upgrade to J from PE Sale. Thanks!

(Edit: despite having an upgrade request pending, Qantas just sent me an email to pre-select meals in PE for the flight, hopefully that's not a bad sign)

J looks sufficiently empty to give you a chance: F1 A0 P0 J9 C9 D0 I0 U0 W4 R4 T0 Z0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X9 E9

Currently there are only 8 seats left in J.
The upgrade fairy tells me if you are already in the queue your chances are good but if anyone else books in J or requests an upgrade it will depend on your status.
I am not sure whether your booked class affects upgrade priority or if it is just QFF status and date of request.
In any event the email about meals means nothing. The system will treat you according to the class of travel you booked unless and until the upgrade is processed.

Thanks both! Interesting that F looks pretty full, so I guess there won't be any last minute J to F upgrades that help free up J seats.

I made the upgrade request a few weeks ago (immediately after booking), so fingers crossed.
