Access to QF lounge...wife at airport right now

Under Qantas and oneworld rules there is no requirement for this. A Qantas gold is permitted to enter the QF lounge when flying on a OW marketed and operated flight.

Correct. But lounge dragons have been known to make things like this up - but come to think of it, if that was the case they would have said so anyway (wouldn’t have mentioned codeshare as a reason).

The only scenario I have thought where she should have been legitimately denied access was if she was ticketed on either the LH or LX codes which are carried on that flight. All the other codes are oneworld codes.

What is the reason for this clarification - is she Gold status or only Qantas Club member?

Context was whether OP’s wife was trying to enter lounge using QF gold status (with membership card) but credit to a different FF program (with that program on boarding pass) where she didn’t have status, which sometimes staff erroneously don’t want to allow.

I find it difficult to believe entry wouldn't be granted with a Gold/Oneworld Sapphire status printed on the boarding pass.
The lounge would scan the boarding pass and it would say no entry. Simple.

Might be something else in play like trying to use different FF memberships or Qantas Club membership. Qantas Club makes sense in alignment with codeshares not allowed, as CX# wouldn't allow access where as a QF# would.

In the case of economy class travel, access will be granted if both the marked and operating airline are Oneworld carriers, AND the FF# is Sapphire or Emerald.

Also I understand, independent of oneworld rules, access is granted to QF operated lounges for QF gold and Platinum members travelling on QF code, irrespective of operating carrier.

Hi All. Well my wife made it to HKG. In summary, she is a Gold FF. She is not in Q Club (used to be but there was no justification for spending money for hardly any benefit nd then she turned Gold anyway). She was refused entry to Q lounge in BNE because it ‘was not a code share flight’. The ticket was issued by QF with a QF PNR and noting her status on the ticket. First leg was on CX ( was originally QF) as she made a v late decision to go a day earlier. She was in PE. 3 more sectors to go on QF. Interestingly she was recognised by CX as a Sapphire with lounge access in Cairns on way up ( if Reef Lounge could be called that ).
