Qantas A380 to Orlando (MCO) - one off only

Not in the timetable either.

What's to do in Orlando besides DisneyWorld and Universal Studios? Those dates are within school holidays.

I think QF11 arrives lax at 0600 & goes back to SYD at 2230. It's roughly 5 hours LAX/MCO, 10 hours flying with 2 hour turns x 3, still leaves 30 mins to play with. All they need at LAX is a crew & presume same crew can fly LAX/MCO/LAX ?

Or if aircraft running late back into LAX, Qantas could switch aircraft with QF94 to MEL which leaves LAX for MEL 25 mins after QF12.

So if they have a group of say 200 or more wanting to have 5 days at MCO, makes sense.

QUESTION ?

Presume Qantas could sell the LAX/MCO/LAX sectors to anyone with a QF ticket into LAX before 19JAN or out of LAX 24JAN or later. Anyone know for sure ?

Now this is an interesting move. I've always wondered whether QF could make this tag flight work during school holidays.

QF have been flying LAX/JFK/LAX daily for decades I think. But would U.S. let them also do LAX/MCO/LAX on a regular basis ?

LAX or SFO/DEN would also be popular seasonally, as in northern winter/ski season. Wouldn't even need to be daily just twice a week to start with would work.

Could only be used by Qantas ticket holders on Qantas metal, although can't see why it couldn't be used by those ticketed on Qantas code share flights. (apparently someone in USA saw a problem with someone on a QF ticket on FJ metal, using QF metal LAX/JFK/LAX.

I think people know it's a charter. The question is around who is the charter for, and that article doesn't seem to address that question.
of course it's a charter, but it can probably only to sold to those with an international Qantas ticket, not local Americans

Those two alone can keep you busy for a week.
Also consider
1. Gatorland - the hosts act like incompetent hillbilly hicks but put on a great show, very slick and professional. You can get to feed an alligator but usually are greeted with about 5-10 at the feeding beach (but not a croc due to differences in aggressiveness).
2. We did the Crystal River Manatee swim twice (part of the conference package) - kids rated it very high on awesomeness - it's a long day and in January the water is much warmer than the air (they supply wetsuits). These are wonderful peaceful creatures that just love a scratch.
3. If you only see one show, please see Blue Man Group.

thinking about it.

A380 is going LAX/MCO/LAX 19JAN & again 24JAN ? Surely it wouldn't sit at MCO for 5 days unless undergoing maintenance or new paint job or some other modification ? (seating change ?)

My reading suggests that the A380 arrives in MCO on 19th Jan and stays there until 24th Jan. Unless it is ferried MCO-LAX after arrival into MCO in 19Jan
5 days is not long enough i think for a new paint job or cabin mods based on previous occurences.

I would expect them to ferry it between LAX and MCO each day. If they didn't, they'd need to cancel one of the return LAX-AU A380 services on 19JAN and AU-LAX on 24JAN (and maybe also one of the AU-LAX routes that entire week depending on aircraft availability)

expensive to fly it empty. Can't see why they couldn't sell all sectors ?

Like the LAX-JFK-LAX, QF cannot sell tickets within the domestic market.
There must be a flight that exits the country on each return unless it’s a ferry.

exactly, so it could be sold eg. with a SYD/LAX/SYD or a LAX/SYD/LAX ticket on QF metal, one way or return
