You must be special in all my time as a P1 I have never received any type of targeted offer be it DSC, 50% DSC or points. :(

This is my first time (insert Virgin joke here).

I don't need it and as I said above wouldn't use it anyway. I think Mascot was a bit sad I'd been left out.

Does anyone know if you can use a flight credit from a previously cancelled flight and still qualify for this?
I know this may have been covered off but I can't find anything in the terms and conditions that note it specifically.

You can add in an old flight credit but it is best to get a new PNR. Buy a $50 voucher then redeem, you will have to call to make this work out. You can save on CC fees with the voucher.

I don’t need it to retain, but I have to book flights to NZ and Asia for travel in Aug-Sep and this would have come in handy as my new starts in Aug. There was some good J pricing to NZ the other day.

Also received the offer. Anyone know if the offer includes the domestic leg as well, ie. Adelaide to HK via Sydney?
I just received this too, and have the same query! I bet the answer is not what we're looking for, though...

I actually realised this cancelled booking was booked during the October DSC promo in 2018. Has anyone ever cancelled a DSC flight and rebooked, and still managed to receive the bonus credits?

If the original booking is converted to a voucher when you rebook it will normally post DSC without issue provided it is still within the original T’s and C’s. May want to check the fly by date from Oct 18, I think you need to travel by 30 Jun 19.

Received as well.
Do I still get double status credit if I make a booking between 20 April 2019 and 30 March 2020 and change the booking after the promotion period has ended ?

Provided the PNR (booking reference) remains the same past experience would suggest you should. If the PNR changes then you wouldn't.

I frequent HKG mostly.

Saver fares for the dates I’d like to book = $6,100

Sale fares for same flight = $3,400

As sale fares don’t qualify for DSC, for a few hundred more I feel it better value spreading similar spend over two separate trips.

First time I haven’t gone crazy booking forward under a DSC. My travel is self funded. Rather not, this time round, thanks Qantas. I will wait for a HKG sale promo, and book two separate trips... unless a more enticing DSC offer comes around.

Seems they’re tinkering and testing various new iterations of SC offerings, no doubt next offers will come soon.

I just received this targetted e-mail two weeks after receiving a DSC offer for Premium Class travel to Singapore on QF flights. QF are seemingly pumping these out as frequently as possible to fatten up their bottom line prior to EOFY!

I reckon 18 months ago, during FY business planning session the exec team decided to test lots of different types of SC offers. We have just seen destination specific SG, fare class specific for this one, short and long booking windows, and no doubt more variants will come.

Expect lots of different tests. The profitable ones & winning ones will get rolled out as regular offers.

Sit back, snack on popcorn, and pounce when a suitable one hits.

mrsamaroo received overnight... QF Plat, 1.5 months into new membership year with 400SC already in the bank.

I didn't get it but husband has. Now trying to book a non sale fare for him to Europe except it is showing that weird list of flights that doesn't identify sale or flex or such. Sure there is a trick but I cant find it for now

Now, that seems very unbalanced and a rip-off (apologies, if words like this isn't allowed in this forum, won't use it anymore) from Qantas.

Like you, most of my travel is self funded, so I'd stick to the Sale fare if I have to book an Int J/Y and wait for better DSC's to be released

I believe also that Qantas is testing how FF's react to variations in DSC offerings and see which works better (money-wise)

I received the offer this morning, April 16, for an offer that opened on April 13 and closes on April 19. Half the time to decide on arrangements appears to be unfair.
How ind it that QANTAS offers cut back time periods to respond to the offer???

I suspect the take up has been poor so are "casting that net" wider to improve response.

This appears to be happening with a lot of Qantas' offers. Eg the last general double status credit offer was extended.

Qantas are testing the market to see if they will bite at inferior DSC offers (eg the last general double status credit offer had a much shorter flying window than previous ones). The market appears to be saying no.

Same deal - and same thought here.

If QF can't get their offers out on time, what chance their flights?? o_O

Regards,

BD

Well everyone in my family got one. However I was the last to receive it today - less than 3 days remaining to book anything
I have already re-qualified until November
