I have booked with Qantas to fly to Goa next week. Route is Brisbane to Singapore ( QF51), then Singapore to Mumbai ( QF3951 operated by 9W0011 W) then Mumbai to Goa ( (9W446). I have Gold Qantas frequent flyer status so wondering if I will get lounge access in Mumbai ? I presume I can get it in Singapore as the flight is numbered QF3951 ? I am flying economy but hoping for an upgrade.

Lounge Access | oneworld

There is a oneworld lounge in BOM but QF flights are not listed for eligibility.

Given you are QF Gold/Oneworld Sapphire, i would probably try emteente on the OW status.

As for Goa, been a few years since I was last there, but i imagine any lounge there wouldn't be worth it, its not a big airport by any means, unless things have changed in the past decade.

Thank you for your reply, will give your suggestion a try in Mumbai. :) No lounge in Goa.

GOA airport is not big either, avoid getting there too early as you'll have nothinng to do, but then agian, its India, so you don't want to cut it too fine either.

Mumbai airport looks pretty good though from when i transitted a few years ago, mind you, the terminal transfer bus was a relic from the 50's

Knew i had some somewhere! below photos from GOA airport circa: 2007. Back then..this was pretty much it. A couple of toilets, one shop offering Indian Tea/Coffee (Essentially taste the same, just sugar) and packaged foods.

Thanks. I believe it's still pretty basic even though there has been an upgrade. In the end didn't need to worry about a lounge in Mumbai as we were moved from queue to queue then had to collect our luggage despite Qantas tagging it through to Goa. You have to love India . Settled into our months holiday in Goa now and loving it. Got an upgrade to Singapore as requested too.

Well done! India does require a lot of patience, and if you accept as simply "oh well, this is India!" you'll end up loving it. Actually the point I always make about visiting India - people either love it, or hate, there's never any middle ground saying "Meh, it was ok"...

My family traces its ancestory to the region of India about 2hrs south from Goa along the coast, spectacular part of the world. If you get a chance, get on one of the Konkan rail day trains and take a trip down south.

Enjoy the heat :)

I love India, this is my 4th visit for a holiday. Yes we are planning a trip down south. And thanks once again for your kind help.
