Did anyone else get this email from Velocity Frequent Flyer?



Virgin is offering 1,000 Velocity points (up to a maximum of 20,000 points) for each person that signs up using my personal referral link by the end of March and earns at least 50 points by the end of April. Not sure if this is targeted or if other members are also getting this email.

The new member will also earn 2,000 bonus points if they sign up using the link and earn at least 50 points.

As per the offer T&Cs, no they don’t.

The family transfers intent was so that once I'd made purchases totalling 50 points in each of my 'new' friends & family members' VFF accounts, I could then transfer the points back to my account. However, the more pertinent question is whether or not I can be bothered with 10-20 accounts for a relatively small number of VFF points and a potentially high risk flag being waved within VFF audit team for these sort of transactions.

I think this is why the 50 point minimum earn is in place, to try to limit the number of dogs, cats etc that are signed up to VFF...

Id say doing it for 1 or 2 accounts would easily go without detection. Any more than that and it would become too risky for my liking.

Isn't there a minimum for point transfers? I thought it was something like 1,000 or 2,000 points. If so, you need to first transfer some points in their accounts before you can transfer anything back to yours. I think it is too much hassle...

I received it, but can't think of anyone to refer. Given that Velocity membership is free I kind of feel like if they haven't signed up by this point they're probably not going to.
