Maybe PER-SIN return and a separate booking SIN-BKK-sin on an asian carrier?

Thanks, for your responses

Have done PER-SIN a couple of times before but came unstuck when trying to get a SIN-BKK ff seat on BA or even J* (do these exist?)...

Also flown Tiger, Air Asia and J* on the SIN-BKK-SIN route before...all OK with Tiger cheaper and better from my experience (good old row 13)

Have a heap of QFF points and would prefer to use these..

Gave PER-SYD-BKK a thought but a it's a lengthy trip..(worse case I can do Tiger PER-SIN-BKK in around 11hrs and for less than PER-SYD-BKK QFF taxes alone!)

I'd be interested in more suggestions...

Looks like I can do PER-SIN-BKK for 40,000 points o/w...PER-SIN (QF -25000) and SIN-BKK (15000) on a QF codeshared flight with CX

You won't be able to book that with QF award booking engine as CX flights do not show up so that may cost you an extra 2,500 points assisted booking fee.

From my experience trying to get an award seat on CX for SIN/HKG-BKK is not easy. Booking flights on these sectors months in advance and the best booking class I can get is M, K and higher. Good luck....

The real issue is that QF does not have a flight that arrives into SIN from PER before the one daily CX flight SIN-BKK...............

Stick to getting award seats from QF PER-SIN-PER and look up one of the one TAs in the SIN market. If you are willing to overnight on the way north then even CX will give reasonable online fares but you may not earn miles.

Southbound - TAs in Bangkok can probably get reasonable prices even in CX Biz class - especially if you want to return within 6 months.

Happy wandering

Fred

I agree that it would be best to just fly to SIN on the award ticket.

One of the best deals I have found for SIN-BKK-SIN is on LX (Swiss) which flies the route daily. They are quite a good "full-service" airline IMHO.

I purchased a SIN-BKK-SIN ticket via the LX website a couple of months ago, and the all-in cost was SGD 238 (approx AUD 190). Being Star Gold is a plus, as one can get preferential seating and also enter the * lounges in SIN and BKK. Beats the hell out of the LCC's and for only a few dollars more...

I found this thead looking seaching for "ASSISTED AWARD BOOKING REFUND"

I Rang QF today gave the date I want to travel (24th OCT) and route (SIN-BKK-KHI) and avaialbility was found processed and I now have my eticket. Was painless.

Only thing that upset me is the 2.5k Fee. She Agent never mentioned it. I Know this because I was waiting for her to mention it so I could use the, "I wanted to book in online, But KHI is not listed" excuse. As she never mentioned it, I thought (wrongly) that I wasn't going to be charged.

Anyway, my search turned up nudda, so I was wondering has anyone been able to get the ASSISTED AWARD BOOKING FEE waived?

Last year I could not book my Oneworld RTW award online so I booked it via the service centre and I asked for the 2,500 assisted award booking fee to be waived. The fee was waived.
