Has been a while since having QF12 as ,hopefully, flight with out delays .
Just wondering can you generally get time to duck into the lounge at LAX when arriving from JFK going to Syd?
Thanks

This is for QF11, not QF12

Move, Move and Move. After immigration & customs head up the ramp to to right. They generally have a special taped lane for QF12 PAX.

After bag redeposit, head to the right after you enter the arrivals hall and proceed down past where it narrows into a corridor.

There you'll find transit security.

After that head up and you'll find yourself near the midpoint of the T4/TBIT connector. Turn right and head along - Stay at that level (don't go down), turn a corner to the right and you'll be at the entrance to the Qantas First lounge.

I've only done QF12 SYD to JFK twice and really really endeavor to avoid it and it's inherent transit pressures. SYD-LAX is fine, followed by a later AA flight. Generally little cost difference.

Isn't that QF11 though?
And yes I agree, with the LAX immigration queue >90 minute delay (600 sweaty people in a 9-layer deep human snake with only 6 out of 48 booths open) the staff are always at desperation to get everyone continuing through to JFK to hurry along.

Yes, you are correct. I blame bleary eyes.

For QF12, on arrival into LAX you are released air-side - head straight through the shopping Mall then toward security and down a corridor to the right where there are lifts that will take you to the Lounge. From the lifts it is right towards the First Lounge and Left for the oneworld Business lounge.

Brilliant thanks @serfty
Sorry, I misread your post. See my entry just prior to this post, but move anyway.

Again I avoid this transfer when I can (in fact QF12 from JFK full stop). Much easier to time things for a leisurely hour or four at LAX before the flight back to Oz.

I took QF12 a month ago, flight was late into LAX but I managed to dash to the Oneworld lounge, have a very quick shower, then the next leg of QF12 to Sydney was called (after a short delay). I spotted a Qantas person in the terminal at a desk and asked if she thought I had time, and she said the crew for the A380 hadn't arrived yet, so I had a little bit of time. I'd say about 15 minutes all up. Hope you make it!
