Virgin Lounge Food

Is there a hot breakfast spread at MEL between say 05:45-06:30 on a Saturday?

To expand on that question… what time do the lounges usually pack up breakfast and switch to all-day mode? Is it the same time on weekdays/weekends?

If VA would introduce hot food into the PER lounge for the afternoon bank of flights over East I would be a very happy camper...
Second revisit of this post...only a chicken and corn soup on offer. No other hot food present, and I arrived before the BNE, ADL and MEL late afternoon flights were close to boarding. Not a great look in my opinion.

The ever-present (and tasty) Greek salad continued though which I was very happy about. First world problems...

The Singapore noodles were quite tasty in BNE yesterday. A queue formed as soon as it arrived about 12.00 and seemed to be topped up at regular intervals. Unfortunately it was only warm whereas I would have preferred it to be hot.

It seemed to be very popular.

Heh my timings were not that good then.
Passed VAd BNE the lounge early this month they had as I mentioned char siew pork but cold and Italian beef sauce spiral pasta.
Would have loved to try that Singapore noodles.
This is why the lounge has it's plusses, the surprises they bring out some times.

Short cut bacon, potato and onion rosti and home made baked beans (all served to you by a staff member) in the MEL lounge this morning.

As this was 'effectively' free, it would be nice if my fellow VA lounge users would be a little less 'picky' when there is a big line waiting. Also, VA do not have 'vegan bacon' (whatever that may be) for those who need to ask...

To try and answer my own question, it seems like the answer is 09:30, at least on weekdays. That's what was on the menu sign at the MEL lounge on Friday.

I was there at about 09:40, just as they were packing up and managed to grab the last of the bacon and potato rosti (like Pleb Status' photo), but too late for baked beans!

Chicken and mushroom risotto with chilli flakes and parmesan cheese in the PER lounge this afternoon. I have seen better presented dishes but it tasted fine. Need more chilli next time...

A noob question but i have a 6.30am domestic flight next week from SYD and just wondering if any hot breakfast items are likely to be available at the unearthly time of 5.30am?

If its just cereals, yoghurts and fruits i'll give the lounge a miss in favour of an extra half an hour sleep

In the lounge, yes. I've done the 5:30am entry a few weeks ago and the baristas and chef were fired up and already making everyone happy. Menu items are limited to literally eggs or something ( i didnt order) . There is toast and other heated items from the buffet.

Most VA lounges will have lukeish warm bain marie baby (as in small sized) sausages, usually lukeish warm mashed eggs, ADL has whole eggs, barista made coffee, though you can make your own tea, ...
Like as if they don't trust us to to let us have more than one cup of coffee, I sometimes have two cups, and though its allowed, its just a pain in the ... to have to ask for one more cup.
The coffee is the only heat hot thing that they have, strong too, haven't tried their super strong yet.
SYD T2 used to be the AN lounge a very long ago, so if its your first visit, maybe its worth a look see.
