A possible heads up for other members:

I just added WOW Rewards card to Google Pay using the link in an email I received from WOW Rewards. No problems except that it seemed to change my redemption setting to QFF points which, as far as I know, I did not request.

I've changed it back to instant savings now but just make sure you check your redemption setting if you add the card to Google Pay.

Note that Google Pay displays the redemption setting and that is what alerted me to the change. It also displays the points balance, which was wrong!

I may stick with the Stocard app.

I keep mine at QFF points as I value 870 at more than $10.

I earn my QFF points via sign on bonii and shortly by emtpying my Amex MR account so prefer the instant saving at Woolworths.

NP's ... we are all different - SWMBO does the Christmas savings thing - for her $110 credit will be available from Dec 1st.

I checked my email this morning to find one from WOW Rewards informing me that I had changed my redemption setting to QFF points. I most certainly had not chaged this setting.

Upon logging in, I was told my account was locked and that I had to reset my password. I did this and changed my redemption setting back to I want it to be.

Time for a call to WOW Rewards, I think - this is not on!
 
When I get the email 'personalised specials', it also says "

COMING SOON - YOUR QANTAS POINTS


On the 15th of December your Woolworths Dollar savings will be converted to Qantas points^.".

Well I suspect I've just been caught out with this. MrsDaver6 came back from doing the shopping today and proclaimed a great discount. It seems somehow my reward setting had changed to cash off rather than QF points. Will call up on Monday and suggest this is reversed as at no time have I changed the setting. :mad:
 
Yes we are definitely a Qantas points earning family as we do use quite a few every year. 870 points versus $10 cash......I save about $35 on redemption flights in business and first instead of $10.
 
Update. Called this morning and was told there was a long wait. Offered a call back which I accepted. Explained that I didn't make the change. Was put on hold for a few minutes and my points were re-instated. Was informed that won't sweep till March, but if I wanted they could expedite it. I'm happy with March. Rather painless experience, so I'm happy again. I suspect the lack of argument might imply that this is a known issue.

Thank you for the update. I haven't got around to calling yet and since my initial annoyance has worn off, I may leave it as no harm has been done in my case.
 
Further annoyances:
  • Mrs_O's redemption setting got changed.
  • My available $$ to redeem on shops were not getting redeemed.
I spoke to WWR and they confirmed other reports of redemption settings being randomly changed. The agent 'reset' my setting by changing it to 'bank for Christmas' and back again to 'instant'.

It seems to be behaving itself now and the instant redemptions are happening in store, albeit semi-manually as the checkout assistant asks me if I want to redeem an available saving.

Weirdly though, receipts still say that I am converting to Qantas Points - WWR agent had no explanation for that one.

Caveat emptor and keep an eye on your account settings.
