I am trying to work out a strategy to transfer approx 2m Amex Reward Points from my Centurion Card to a supplementary card holder (family member), but trying to overcome certain limitations. Amex will only let you transfer to the main card holders airline and hotel partners (i.e. has to be in the same name)

For example, if I transfer the 2m points to say, my QFF or Krisflyer account, I am limited to 600K p.a. points transfer limits with Qantas (to transfer to another family member) or to the best of my knowledge, Krisflyer charges you to transfer between family members (not desirable)

Any suggestions - for example, transferring to a hotel program that allows you to transfer 1:1 to another family member (within the same hotel program) who can then transfer to their preferred FF airline program without losing points value?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance.

Velocity and family pooling will work, but it may not be where you want your points to go.

You should be able to transfer 50 k directly through Amex . Transferring via hotel program will lead to substantial conversion loss.
Have you considered opening and linking a different qff account once your limit has been reached ?

SPG used to allow this and ISTR Marriot will do so since the merger.

With SPG, the donor and beneficiary needed to be on file as having resided at the same address for over a month.

Of course, since the merger, the rates AMEX MR to Airline programs are poor with 90K ending up as 25K IIRC.

There’s a bonus offer for transferring to QFF - up to 45% ... offer ends Nov 30.

You could transfer to QF take the bonus and then just book flights from your account for your family member. Assuming you wanted QFF
