Hi all

Posted recently about our upcoming trip to Noumea. I just thought we would upgrade to business, and easily done for partner as he is on Qantas flight. I am on same flight, same plane, but travelling with Air Calin. I can't see how to organise an upgrade to business thru their site and don't want to just upgrade my partner! Does anyone know how I can upgrade both of us?

This article explains that Qantas FFers can upgrade on Aircalin using FF points but ONLY when booked under a Qantas flight number.

So it appears that you won't be able to join your partner. :(

I’d assume that unless the Air Calin allocation has been sold out in J, there may be a possibility of paying to change the ticket to J but that may not necessarily be the cheapest

With the Air Calin and Qantas flights to/from Noumea, half the aircraft is sold by Qantas and the other half sold by Air Calin. The same applies to the Business Class cabin and so it's up to each airline to decide how they manage their allocation of seats.

Qantas allows for points upgrades in their part of the cabin, along with Bid Upgrades and paid upgrades (the fare difference).

Air Calin also allows for points upgrades (using Flying Blue Miles from fares Y, B, S, H), Bid Upgrades (you need to receive an offer email first) or paid upgrades (the fare difference).

It's worth noting that the Air Calin allocation of the business class cabin might be full or have no free seats for upgrades whilst the Qantas one does.
