Just doing some searches for Mel-Per trip and noticed PY product is saleable now on the Dom legs of QF9/10.I was aware you could do redemptions and points upgrades but don’t recall the PY product saleable on the Dom tags.
The fare conditions drop down doesn’t show points or status earned yet.The pricing can over 1k cheaper than J on a 737 product which seems good value attached to BusinessLounge/First Lounge access..get in today whilst DSCs are still on

Interesting - although $1250 for PE Saver vs $717 for Flex Y is a pretty steep jump. Both should earn 40SC before DSC.

Good change if your company travel policy allows PE for flights over x hours duration.

Can't get PE to price using the GV engine by the way.

Seems like zero SC and points in PY Dom leg.....?

The booking engine seems to be connected to the SC calculator, which is notoriously out of date and often missing new routes.

It remains to be seen what domestic PE Saver earn rates will look like, but going by international rates it will probably earn the same as Flex Y.

Surely PE alone doesn’t get you lounge access does it ? Don’t you need SG or above status ?

That's correct. I think @Standby is alluding to the flight leaving from MEL international, so the lounges are better for those who hold status. (but the same applies to flying in Y)

Instead of going PE on that particular flight, to earn QF SC, I would look into phoning QF up and buying 2 whY seats in that comfort seat deal, if available.
Or stump up PER - MEL/vv in discJ.
No QF SC earn(t) in PE on that QF9/QF10 Au domestic sector of an international flight is a real downside, if its true though.

Can you upgrade using points from discount Y? How many if so?

do you have to leave via the International Terminals on the domestic sector for this?

^^ bugger that then ...

The queue of passengers arriving on the domestic sector stretched into the duty free outlet the day before the AFL preliminary final, but I was continuing on to LHR so not sure how quickly it cleared...

I just booked PER-MEL for Dec in discount Y and was able to submit an upgrade request to PE for 10 000 points. Upgrade to J was 25 000 but I’m keen to try the new PE product (if upgrade comes through).

Another data point on PE upgrade requests on these flights, as these are considered part of an international flight there is no instant confirmation of an UG request (just called QF). So you wait until ~24h before the flight for confirmation (or earlier for those higher up the food chain than this SG).

Has anyone done this leg? Wondering if the beverage options are the same as international PE legs.

I have only done it in J but the drink selection for MEL-PER was the same as the international PER-LHR leg (same exact brands)
