Hi guys,
I am coming towards the end of my 4 week Europe trip, and i think i might have bought too many things.
At the moment, i have a large luggage, a carry on luggage, a small backpack where i store my laptop, and a foldable and soft sports bag (Not being used in the trip yet)

I will be flying in Suites from LHR to SIN, and then normal F class from SIN to MEL.
I would like to know if SQ is strict in enforcing their cabin allowance ? (I will try my best to stick to the 2 pieces limit)

Thank you.

Why not check in both your large luggage and carry-on, and take your backpack and sports bag with you?

Oh i did not know that you can check in 2 pieces of luggages with first class.
Great, thanks for the suggestion !

SQ BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE

Class of travel
Allowance PPS Club members KrisFlyer Elite Gold / Star Alliance Gold members
Suites and First Class 50kg Extra 50kg Total: 100kg Extra 20kg Total: 70kg

Business Class 40kg Extra 40kg Total: 80kg Extra 20kg Total: 60kg

There's no mention of the Number of bags - just they must not exceed a LxWxH max of 62 inches.

Can we assume that Velocity Gold/Platinum would receive the Star Alliance Gold allowance?

From the velocity gold benefits page:

SINGAPORE AIRLINES
  • One piece of additional checked baggage when travelling to/from the USA and Brazil
  • Additional checked baggage of up to 15kg when travelling to other international destinations

Thanks! I'd previously only found Singapore Airlines - Virgin Australia - Checked Baggage and Singapore Airlines - Virgin Australia - Rewards and Recognition which, whilst looking like official guidelines, aren't very helpful! I'm finding the virgin and velocity sites more and more difficult to navigate - maybe I'm just getting old!

And just to note here, that the Velocity Platinum benefits page shows additional checked baggage of up to 20kg.

I've found they are really generous in First class when you walk on board with a lump of carry on with you. I've flown with the missus and bubs a few times in first, so we've brought on board 1-2 normal sized carry-on each, carry-on sized pram, baby bag and some duty-free bags from purchases at Changi. Albeit we had to store the excess in the empty seat next to us on occasion.

If it's a full cabin, that might be another store. I'm sure there's storage else where in the cabin.

Great ! Yeah, i also find that SQ in general is not that strict in enforcing the carry on bag limits. I think i will be ok but just in case :)
