I was reading the most recent amex platinum card details.
Annual fee has increased but looks like they have brought back Accor plus membership (for primary card holder) and increased annual travel credit to $450
The Platinum Card

Thanks for sharing. I might not have looked properly, what’s the new annual fee?

The AFR benefit was previously only available with the business card. I don’t need it as work pays for mine but would be valuable benefit as AFR subscription isn’t cheap.

Will be interested to see what happens to the professional association discounted fee

$1450 via the Apply Now button
The increase in travel benefit is potentially pleasing as I currently already more than break even with my card

It would be nice to have an overall Platinum Charge 'Enhancement' thread to discuss all of the changes.... Maybe the mods could rename this thread?

As my annual fee is due next week, I called to see what is going on as I have an ex PA card.

For those who have a discounted annual fee (current and ex PA cards), the annual fee will increase from $950pa to $1200pa but this will apply from 01 November 2018. Those who have AF renewals prior to that date will still pay $950pa for the next year but will not get the increased travel credit (but the old $300). All renewals on 01 November 2018 and later will pay the higher fee and will get the increased travel credit (the new $450).

I assume the same regime will apply to those on the normal card, but at $1200pa and $1450pa accordingly.

The other new benefits are available now to all customers, including the Accor Plus offer.

I assume the 'value' is in the free night of accommodation in the Accor Plus offer? Otherwise, it looks no different to the other free hotel loyalty schemes....

Waiting to see what's going to happen to the annual fee for the Chartered Accountant cards, given the relationship ended last financial year will they now increase the annual fee to $1200 (the new AF for other PA cards) or $1450 (the full fee).

And Law NSW Card - but I am sure I saw email or online msg where they said whilst r/ship ceasing there will be no change to Ann Fee going forward but danged if I can find it now.

I got the same letter - but I wonder whether this still applies given the annual fee is changing for everyone. I can't see them keeping us on $950 annual fee while every other PA card is going to $1200.

So likely a $250 increase in PA card offset by a free night and additional $150 travel credit.
Might also be able to get some value out of the dining discount-Manly Wine doesn't seem to be there which is a pity

Looks like the Accor Plus benefit starts today, is there a list of hotels where the free night can be redeemed at? Just planning ahead....

Just enrolled in A+. My annual renewal date is November so will be hit with the annual fee, however I will negotiate with them to lower the fee.

I might also request the new metallic card.

I assume the complimentary Platinum Reserve card with $400 travel card is still a benefit?

Pretty much any Accor hotel. So Sofitel, Pullman, Novotel, Sebel, Mercure and so on

Up to 4x supplementary cards, which also get all the hotel perks and lounge access.
But clear if they all get Priority Pass membership now - anyone know?

Bit annoying that the new metallic card will come with a new number rather than just your existing card number, I guess that's a security issue where they wouldn't want 2 identical cards floating around. But it means I need to change direct debits and as I booked some airfares with my existing card, I will need to keep the old card as sometimes airlines will ask to verify the credit card used to make the booking.

Also wonder how the new metallic card will work with paypass. I read that the US card members had issues with their metal cards...
