There's currently a Malaysia Airlines sale on ex KUL, and there are some super deals to Australia in both economy and business class. Sale ends 14 June and you'd need to travel by 31 March next year.

Some examples of business class fares available:
  • KUL-PER from $722 return (MYR2189)
  • KUL-BNE from $1,308 return
  • KUL-SYD from $1,414 return
  • KUL-ADL from $1,513 return
The J flights book into "Z" class which earns QF points & status credits at "flexible economy" rates.

Thanks for this. Unfortunately, even though $722 ex Perth is a good price, MH are still flying their very poor B737-800 here. With a 02:10 departure time to make it worse.

I have seen some mid-afternoon departures available ex Perth (during peak periods when there's a second daily flight), but yes it is still the 737 for the moment.

Note, these fares aren't available ex PER, they're ex KUL.

Oops - my reading comprehension failed me there. We are too busy planning for Spain in September at the moment to consider other trips.

Interestingly, when I click on your link I get a "404" error and a blank connection. I can find the specials on MH's website. (Per-Kul-Per is showing as A$2,230.)

Hmm, that's strange. It was supposed to be a link to the deals page on the Malaysian edition of the MH website.

Still a feasible option for me - used to take Jetstar SIN-PER which has now been replaced by the QF arriving close to midnight, which does my head in. Intending to save on annual leave and go to work the next day, which means despite my WP status I still prefer to leg it on Scoot which does a 12pm - 5pm flight on alternate days. Transitting via KL on MH gives us lounge access/additional baggage but usually the wife would prefer a direct flight home after a long holiday.... then again MH J sounds more palatable compared to Scoot :)

Plus there's the satay :D

The only leg we did in J was on the B737 out of Perth and all we got for food was a very poor noodle dish - certainly no sate offered unfortunately. The return leg was in economy on the A330 and the food was better. I will try out ScootBiz in September, all I am really hoping for is legroom.

Ex BLR or any City in India return on Malaysia J for $2100 or less now. A great deal I should Say

Better off repositioning to CMB and getting one of the terrific QF J fares (~$2200) which earn many more QFF SC than the MH fare does.

Is that flying UL ex CMB - you mean.
I have to fly into BLR many times, besides the UL short leg between BLR-CMB frequently gets cancelled for one reasons or the other. The story with CMB airport is another matter altogether.

It's a QF flight number ex CMB, operated by either EK or UL.

Just picked up a one way $1220 business class fare from CAN-KUL-ADL (all A330) for May next year.
