Was lucky enough to travel with a colleague that was OWE (AA Platinum Elite) recently so we took the opportunity to get to LHR early and do a lounge crawl. Unfortunately his OWE didn't provide access to the EK lounge so we had to remain content with the 4 other options.

CX - Definitely the best breakfast with an a la carte menu, was a bit old inside.
QF - Doesn't offer a dedicated F lounge but is the nicest lounge having only recently opened in late 2017. Buffet breakfast with specific breakfast plate wasn't up to the CX standard.
AA - old and dated, skip it.
BA - old and dated, only redeeming feature was the champagne bar.

Next time, I'd have breakfast in CX and then head to QF until boarding time. As of June, I'll reach WP in my own right for the first time so hopefully get to try it again soon.

Still think the Dubai first lounge is the best experience.

I really like the CX lounge. There's hardly ever anyone in there and they have comfy chairs and good tarmac views.

Huh? The longe was refurbished a year or two ago.

The FL has reasonable food, limited menu a la carte table service and self pour champagne.

Far better than the QP IMHO.

Wow, it certainly wan't obvious. It just looked like all the other worn out lounges across the US. The new AA ones in LAX, ORD etc are very nice.

Did you use the AC rather than the Flagship Lounge?

The door to the FL is to the right and somewhat behind as you face the reception desk.

There's actually three of them in Dubai. One in each concourse A, B and C. I've now been to all three.

A is huge and is the most modern and has much better showers. And direct boarding from the lounge to the A380s.

B is about the same size as A but seems older. The showers are awful! A dorm like arrangement with tiny and mean cubicles. There was no direct boarding for my A380 flight.

C is a much smaller lounge. Again with the awful showers.

All the lounges offer the same food and beverage and more-or-less the same facilities but with different arrangements. I quite liked C although A and B have the wow factors.

The huge distances between the lounges means to it makes sense to be in the one nearest to your gate as boarding time approaches.
