Finally back on the SQ bus again after a couple of years in the wilderness flying Etihad F. Their 100% strike rate loosing my bagage was just too much and the taxes are way too high aswell. Tonight F on 218 then R to LHR on 308 . F to NRT next week then back to MEL in F again a week later. Ah the joys of a 2 continent ski trip :)

Loosing my luggage was one of the things I loved during my EY F trips as it meant free cash for shopping at my final destination courtesy of AMEX ;) SQ are not so good in loosing luggage unfortunately :p

Loosing your luggage on a one week ski trip means it’s a bit chilly but if you do your sums a new pair of ski boots ... as if by magic a shop keeper appears

Booked SIL for a visit to TPR. I think she is starting to enjoy the champagne.

We looked at using SIL’s own QF points in business but Mrscove felt a First Class run would be better so it was hello to my Kris Miles account.

Gday

If anyone has flown F lately can you please tell me what was the Bordeaux red wine being served? I am flying SYD-SIN-ZRH next month and cannot find any winelist on the SQ website. I flew SYD-SIN-HND in the mid 2017 and had a sensational red called Chateaux Pichon Longeuville. Was easily a contender for best red i have ever had. Am hoping it is still being served but dont want to have my expectations shattered once on board. Any help appreciated.

Pele.

If you had asked this 2 days ago I could’ve posted the wine list.

I am getting on First Sin to LHR in an hour - I’ll let you know.

I have been lucky enough to have been to Chateau Pichon Longueville and it really is a stella wine I agree.

Just to let you know, I did a dummy booking just now for March next year for a single Suites redemption SYD-SIN return on SQ232/231 and SQ222/221 and it did allow me to book a Saver reward although one flight showed only Waitlist. On a Tuesday with a return a week later. Has anyone else had any success?

How far did you get? If a flight is listed as waitlist, it allows you to go through all the process but it does not actually ticket the itinerary (you will get an email with a deadline to call them and actually ticket the itinerary if/when space becomes available). If you go back to the web site you will see the itinerary under Your bookings, but it shows as waitlisted.

Which flight number was available as saver and which was on waitlist only?

SQ222 still has the old seats in suites afaik, I booked it for Jan (saver) and seat selection shows the old suites.
SQ221 I think has the new seats and I could only get a J seat on that one for Feb.

Just saw 2 suites available SIN - SYD on 1Aug. Maybe because it's a midnight departure there is little interest.

and they are the old suites, which do still have saver availability (I took this flight a couple of weeks ago)
