Hi AFF community!

I flew from Melbourne to LAX on QF 93 a few months ago. As a Skywards Gold member, I asked for access to the Qantas business lounge in Melbourne but was told that I was not entitled to use it.

I called the Skywards helpdesk and the person I spoke to said I was allowed to use the QF lounge, he also tried to speak to the Qantas lounge person but the Qantas staff again said I was not entitled to use the lounge.

According to the Qantas staff member, the partnership between Emirates and Qantas does not cover flights to the USA.

Is this information correct? According to the Emirates website, I should have been able to access the QF lounge.

The QF staff member would be correct.

No different to the member on here with QF status wanting to use the EK lounge prior to a QF flight to the US only to be declined entry.

You could always just ask on the day there may be a Lounge Angle on duty. Alternatively if you have the right type of AMEX or Priority Pass these lounges could be an option. I believe the lounges only opened a week or so ago, they were not open on when I flew out of MEL on 17/3.

Hi Matt_01,
Yes, I guess there is no harm in asking.

Regards,
Keith
