Help - Changed to GMail and AFF Handle replaced with my name?!

hi all... 3 years member, occasional lurker, lover of all the contributions and insights - thanks.

Hoping for some advice, i recently changed my account email to my gmail, and my username has automatically updated to my name, which i would prefer kept private.

For the life of me, i have searched high and low how to create my old nickname, without any luck.

Can anybody help point me in the right direction?

It's worth noting our integration with Facebook helps new users join AFF too, many users with their full name instead of a standard anonymous username have signed up through Facebook. Those users should be aware that if they want to be more anonymous they are welcome to send me an email or open a conversation and I can change their username.

I have responded to this member via a private conversation, but want other members to know that it is not possible for your email to change your username. This has not occurred in this case. Perhaps some other mix-up. Only an Administrator can change your username (at your request).
