Have been having internet issues ever since the boffins started NBN. A couple of weeks ago I was getting bumped every five minutes or so, couldnt even get netflix etc etc. Contacted Telstra (actually even trying to report a fault is a nightmare) and was asked to check line using a land phone. Of course we no longer have a land phone. Anyways I cancelled their service call after internet seemed a bit better, at 3.5mbps. At least I stayed contacted though. Then another bad day so contacted TPG. Their service call was today, that was done well. They told me their system showed no errors. I did hear the Tech talking to the main centre and to change profiles. He left saying that everything seemed fine, maybe it was Telstra yada yada. Yeah, right, did another speed test and I am up to 9mbps. Clearly they tweaked something at TPG and figured I wouldnt work it out.

We've been having increasing difficulties using our internet. If you want to use the wifi you have to sit next to the modem now, no chance of relaxing in the loungeroom with your laptop.... wondered if it was a deliberate ploy now that NBN has been rolled out.

A weekend of firsts.both mrsdrron and I checked in on our phones and flashed them to board.

but interesting emails from QF prior to flights.Mrsdrron got one outlining the guest policy at the MEL QP-no guests between 5am-9am and 3pm to 7pm.Well we arrived at 1100 and her flight initially was at 1330 but brought forward to 1300.
I though was scheduled to leave at 1540 yet my email said nothing about guest limitations.
So in this instance LTQP trumped LTG.:rolleyes:o_O

My thoughts exactly. I even bought a new modem but same result. Maybe get a call out and there might be some tweaks they do. Consistently super fast (for our benchmark) currently.

The problem is the account isnt in my name, its in mums. And as she isnt living there she's not so invested in whether it actually works or not. Trying to get the username/password from her so I can at least try a newer modem.

A pain then. Privacy yada yada. Could you maybe be her and say you’ve forgotten the password? You’d know DOB etc. just blame poor memory on your mothers age.

I have pretended to be my Mum on the phone before. ;)

I always said I like my Samsonite 72hrs but its 4 wheel and I would prefer 2 wheel and no idea how I ended up on Bag Worlds website but there I was and there it was, 2 wheels for $87 and free postage.

If I contra it with my Rego CTP refund, practically free!

As have I, though I dont sound anything like a 60-something woman. I've asked her to call and get the password and I'll take it from there.

And NBN sucks.

I had to go to social media to get my mums phone fixed, she had gone weeks without it so I basically said does the headline need to read, "Little old lady dies from NBN" before someone fixes the problem (multiple call outs, Telstra blame NBN, NBN blame Telstra, mums 24hr monitor device couldnt work until fixed. Techs falling over themselves in a day or so after posting and problem fixed within 3 days. It had been weeks until that point.

So a couple of weeks ago, my mum wanted me to buy something for her online and she gave me her credit card details to pay.

I THOUGHT I removed her details from my account, but opps....nope, shes been paying for all my online purchases :oops:

Mum: What did you buy for a stupid dollar!? (it was a part for my sewing machine).

You know that CBA ad, where the couple realizes how much money they spend on take out food for the month? Similar but ebay purchases for me... $378 later.

That's where I also got my 2 wheel version. I think I may have a $5 off code if you haven't purchased yet

I was watching the cricket telecast when I saw it unfold and at first thought "Bancroft's working that ball vigourously, hang on, why did he put his hand back into his pocket?" Then it unfolded like a bad dream. I was thinking Lehmann then had either seen the footage for himself (as they have the TV feed into the players and coaches room) or had been alerted to it, thus the walkie-talkie down to Handscomb and the reason for putting his hand in front of his mouth so nobody could lip read (knowing he was in full view of the cameras). We saw Handscomb mouth an exclamation, then go out on the field to alert Bancroft.

Then it was Trousergate...and the audible comment by either a cameraman or commentator on Foxtel when the yellow piece of tape was clearly viable was "Oh My God." or similar. I knew at that stage it wasn't looking at all good for the Aussies. The attempt to pass off the glasses softcase was unbelievably stupid. Then of course the Tea interval was the commentators picking apart the footage - so I went to bed thinking there's going to be hell to pay at the end of play.

I had saved the news reports and played them to my wife last night, who whilst she is not a cricket follower, was similarly dumbstruck by the mindblowing stupidity that they didn't think they were going to get caught.

Whether Lehmann knew or didn't know - well if he did, he's as guilty as the rest of them. If he didn't - well that's not much of a defence either. If they shielded their plans behind his back, then it does say more about the players involved but also questions whether Lehmann is fit to lead (given the era of sledging and now ball tampering). Ah, the unintended consequences are coming home to roost.

I am ashamed and embarrassed that the "group" involved are representing me as an Australian. I have no doubt it includes more than Smith and Bancroft (the truth will come out) and the investigation by the ACA Head of integrity should make for interesting reading. Glad to see the initial ICC sanctions and am sure there will be more to come for more players, both at ICC and ACA level.

If it means that we lose the next Test (and the Series), then that is squarely on the shoulders of those complicit with the ball tampering decision. I feel sorry for the innocent players, unless they knew about it and chose not to do any action (tell Lehmann or other coaching staff that ball tampering was being contemplated).

Hopefully the rebuilding of the Australian team will include an ethics code that is enforced rigourously - if I need to do them in my industry, maybe it's good enough for the cricketers.

Meanwhile I’m enjoying the kiwis and England :)

Oh man. We need to get rid of Councils. SA has more Councils than Queensland from memory. Sick of being over controlled these days.

$2,500 for not bringing a wheelie bin in, what a crock. It all comes back to local governments trying to pinch any penny they can get, because pretty much all of them are poorly run as the majority of Councillors have no idea how to direct an organisation.
