He should be sacked, no question. For an individual to do it, yes, that’s the game, but for the leadership to plan it over lunch, then get the new boy to carry it out is unforgivable.

And HTF with 16 cameras on the ground did they possibly in their wildest xx_X inspired fantasy imagine they could get away unnoticed???

Yep. James Hird was a hero of mine but acted badly and bullied those younger players into the drug experiment. And the others just haven’t been caught yet. A 3 times rule doesn’t inspire confidence in the drug regime.

I think Steve Smith owes an apology on 3 counts.
  1. Stupidity. That he thought he could get away with it
  2. Using the least experienced member in the team to do something you are not prepared to do yourself
  3. The actual planning of the incident.
 
When major blunders happen, it's the leadership who resigns or gets sacked.

CA will need to kick this Smith guy to the curb.

Apart from his bias for nepotism, think Maddison and NSW, He's had final say on who's in the team, and when he hasn't, think Cameron White' , his sulky behaviour meant the guy never stood a chance, so "You're Fired" can't come soon enough.

I'm not convinced James Hird is fully to blame. He still has my respect.

The problem with cheating is that it's everywhere. Athletics, boxing, swimming, cycling, soccer, rugby league, AFL, baseball, gridiron etc.

Who is clean? In my opinion make it an even playing field. Let tham all cheat.

We all make mistakes. This was a poor judgement call from a team desperate to win at all costs. They are not the first and not going to be the last. Banning the leadership group for a game or 2 would be sufficient punishment.

The thing that gets me is that I think this idea has come from the coach. I think he's overstayed his welcome. That needs to be reviewed.

Interesting that Smith said Lehman wasn’t involved at all but he looked decidedly uncomfortable when the camera panned across the box on the news.

He saw it on the TV, calls the 12th man on the phone, who goes up to Bancroft, who then puts offending object in pants. Lehman should be worried.

I had to laugh when Bancroft pulls out the black cleaning cloth. Umpires took that at face value. Then they saw the video. Just dumb.
