Am now in the A&E awaiting treatment because I have a 7cm laceration on my arm. I walked into the metal trim.

Not pretty and quite deep.

All tiles were inside.

Couple of hours waiting time.

Haven't tried it but would expect it to be so since salt increases the electrical conductivity discharging some electrical potential which signals the muscles to twitch. Galvani 'discovered' the effect with electric spark in 1780's so would seem that ionic salt would also generate an action potential across still surviving nerve cells.

Sounds like something you need to sprinkle on the current batch of ALP polititians.

Now now. I and the ‘Coal twins’ were told to moderate the political discussion in TOT so I guess I’m not able to comment directly.

Wasn’t there an old adage about sprinkling salt on a willy wagtail’s tail to catch them? Probably don’t need to do that with feathered species in northern NSW they seem to catch themselves?

No, the advertisements alone put me off.

Am now home with eight stitches in my arm and a tetanus booster. The local is still working so no pain yet. It didn't bleed much.

Whilst the A&E was busy I was through in three hours, must've been one of the serious cases.

And now a week off work. Some serious television watching coming up.

Exactly what will happen to my bathroom and toilet. My plumber is also doing the tiling and she has booked the other people required. Estimated time from commencement to conclusion is 10 working days.

In one of my many cleanups, I found the original cast iron basin and pedestal from this house underneath the house.

Theres a restorer shop a couple of suburbs away and the owner lives a few streets away.I didn't want this to end up as landfill so phoned them to pick up for free. They picked up that day.

I like to think they fixed up and sold it.

Sure can! Zoology and Botany were where the girls were!

Those were the days! One 'zoo' dissection prac was with 'sea cucumbers'. Slimy brown things that resemble very large turds. They were killed humanely by gradually warming the water they were in.

So! Step one in the prac was 'get your cucumber' - by reaching into a warm green soup in a basin and grabbing said beastie. Of course some in the class were squeamish about this so others did the reaching in and handed them out.

Trouble is, the defence mechanism of these things if they are attacked involves shooting their intestines out through the anus (the predator will munch on the intestines, while the sea cucumber, being an echinoderm, can escape and grow it back). Turned out that not all the beasties were dead ...
