That's why contacting madrooster or your friendly TA is handy - gets around that little problem of using vouchers, expending the funds upfront and no issue with multi-city bookings ;)

What we've all been waiting for!

Registration link is on the Qantas home page.

Book an eligible Qantas operated flight between 1 February and 5 February 2018, for travel from 12 February 2018 to 20 January 2019.
I find these offers very unsatisfying. I'm not waiting around to organise my travel until one of these offers comes along. The day before, I booked flights for a week hence and nothing planned for another week, which is outside the time limit of the offers. Really is 5 days enough to organise a trip.

Most of my travel is discretionary and I can wait to book that. However my work travel tends to be booked fairly close to the flight time. If I have a trip at the end of the year I'm not going to know if the budget will be approved let alone dates confirmed in the next few days.

In relation to this condition: 'Only one Double Status Credits offer can be used per individual qualifying segment of your itinerary', I understand this to relate to a separate offer. I recently received a targeted 50% bonus SC offer. I can't remember the dates but IF the offers overlapped, then it would be the first registered offer only; That is...I would not get 50% + 100% bonus on the same flight.

Hmmm, might be a gotcha for me - I received a targeted 50% bonus SC offer yesterday morning for bookings made 31 Jan - 6 Feb and
naturally registered straight away. So now I'm thinking that registration will take precedence over the current double promo which I've just registered for? Any thoughts?

I agree; I usually miss out, but this time I just got lucky and could have my TA re-book me.

Its really not timed for passenger's benefit so much as to spur people who may be thinking about making a booking and travel to do it NOW, during what I guess is a dip in bookings/revenue for Qantas period (post holidays).

Whoohoo...both husband and son sent me messages do get my bookings done for the year
All registered just need husband to come home and pay with his Qantas card

No, this won't be ozbargained away JohnK, as it's available to the general public via the QF webpage.
5+ pages of discussing buying gift vouchers. Yep this won't be ozbargained.

It's certainly disappointing that this has been discussed too much.

Definitely hard for those of us with later rollovers in our FF accounts, it means I only have a few months to fly (since I'm fine for this membership year). Lucky people with Jan/Feb rollovers!

Well you could find that there's another DSC offer that covers more flying in your next membership year, but obviously you can't count on it.

I'm fine for the current membership year too (unless I decide to go for P1).

Ok then, now I'm posting this purely as a description of my communication with the P1 SST. I'm not taking responsibility for anybody's interpretation of it or their subsequent bookings, or lack thereof, under this promotion.

The SST contacted the Frequent Flyer Service Centre and has advised that the DSC promotion requires that a flight booking (including vouchers) is to be confirmed AND TICKETED during the promotional period of 1st February to 5th February.

You may take this as you will and remember..... don't shoot the messenger.

If another P1 wants to query this themselves then by all means go ahead.

They might say that, but it doesnt mean that is what will actually happen (just like Amex credits exclude vouchers but we all still get credits).

Ok moving right along from voucher talk...

What are some trips you're booking with this offer?

Work-wise I am able to book a few SYD-MEL hops as well a SYD-SFO trip in June and lock it in.

Holiday-wise I am booking a SYD-ASIA trip for Easter and have no idea about my December holiday trip which I'll leave for a voucher.

Couldn't be happier with this one. Was just about to pull the trigger on a work trip to both UK and then US. This could be the year I make P1.

Question to the brains trust. Is my understanding correct that it must be the 'booking' and not the ticketing made during the relevant period? I ask because my itinerary was priced up confirmed (with PNR) yesterday (Jan 31), but ticketing will occur when I ask them to (by Feb 2). If so, will I have to cancel the current booking and ask the TA to book a again?

All help is appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you to all who responded.

Luckily my TA was on the ball and was able to issue me a new PNR as at today. Looks like those DSCs came just at the right time!

I have a MEL-BNE weekender I haven't booked yet for the end of the month, so will do that for sure. Unfortunately my big US trip has been booked for a few months already so I'm not sure I want to cancel/rebook.
