Can anyone tell me where they have one?

I'm looking at BNE-LAX-NYC-CUN-DFW-SCL-AKL-BNE later this year, all in Y (discount Y actually) so if i can't upgrade some/any sectors, and there's delays, i'd look at paying on the day for lounge access. I understand there's also a deal for AMEX platinum (?free lounge access)?

Any suggestions on locations / prices on user-pays lounges or Amex lounges in any of the above airports would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks serfty for quick reply.

But is this only for CHARGE card platinum, or ANY (CC) platinum??

And does it matter if Aust issued or US/HK/other issued?

I have NO idea - google somthing like "american express airport lounge" and see what you get.

(I have a feeling most standard Oz based Amex cards do not provide such access - perhaps Centurion?)

Well, i searched around Amex and get the feeling it's not possible, so unless i bluff them in NY, DFW etc, it's prob not going to happen.

Priority Pass is a possibility although no access at BNE (international) or AKL. There is access at all other locations. There is a basic membership at $US99 (all visits cost $US27pp) or the next level costs $US 249. This gives you 10 free visits and 0ne guest @ $US27 per visit. I've done this for a RTW trip to avoid the throng at a number of locations. Try this link http://www.prioritypass.com/tp/aecuk

It won't necessarily help this pax but for the record Centurion provides a complimentary Priority Pass membership and a complimentary Qantas Club membership.

In addition, provided that you have a boarding pass for the relevant airline on that day, Centurion members can access the AA Admiral's Club, Delta Crown Room Club, Continental President's Club and NorthWest Airlines WorldClubs.

I believe you get the 'prestige' membership, rather than the 'standard'. Not sure what you were meaning by basic, but the spiel indicates the highest level.

Actually Mal is right. You get the basic membership, which means you need to pay for each lounge entry. This is even the same with the Centurion card.

This is not how it is written on the Amex site.

The fact that your membership is complimentary is also quite something, as this benefit normally costs USD399 a year, per person.

USD399 = Prestige price

Your travelling partner is also welcome for a small fee of USD27.

No mention of a fee for you to enter

I stand humbly corrected oz_mark. I just spoke to Centurion Travel and the Priority Pass membership has been upgraded to a higher level for both Platinum charge cards and the Centurion card. There is no longer a fee for entry by the member, however any guests attract a USD27 fee per guest.

You've been upgraded and you didn't even know it :)

I don't even know where my Priority Pass card is. There is very little communication from them - just an email once every couple of months about lounge openings and closures.

What airlines would you be flying? LAX has 7 terminals, NYC covers 3 different airports and quite a few terminals etc. The terminals you are flying too from are going to have a bearing on what lounges you might be able to access (you can't go through security in the US unless your flight leaves from that terminal).

Most US airlines offer daypasses for $45-$50 if you are flying that airline (or its alliance partners sometimes), only domestic lounges. Again, if you can give more details on which airlines you are flying, we can see if there is a lounge you can pay for or access via Priority Pass or Amex Lounges etc.
