Has anyone ever seen a UFO?

Because our society and belief system is evidence-based. Having beliefs in concepts that are not available to be proven is generally regarded as not useful and many may suggest that such random brain activity is indivisible from stupidity, to use just one term.
Like the bing bang? You need a lot of faith to believe that theory because there's no proof at all. None. It's just a guess that has a few followers.

You saw a UFO? Where? Show me. You can't prove it? Then you didn't see it. Yes we are alone in this 14 billion year old universe.

The first is a mathematical concept arising from the best logical analysis we can make. The second suggests we all believe in alien proctologists then? The third is a concept that so far is open to conjure, not withstanding the Drake equation.

UFO is real according to my friend who witness one.
He see UFO hover near side of road and then fly off at terrific speed. He claims this is not conventional aircraft.

This thread reminds me a time long, long ago when my wife and I were partaking in a few wines on our deck. Suddenly materialising from behind a building, but some distance away was a sizable long elliptical object that was glowing with an orange aura and travelling slowly out over the ocean off Broadbeach.

We were gobsmacked and for a second started to wonder if we were witnessing aliens .... then it drifted in close enough for us to see it was actually the promotional blimp for the Indy cars IIRC! Had us going for a few seconds though! I also think that with the mind boggling size of the universe, if anyone genuinely believes we must be the only life anywhere, they must have a very shuttered outlook. Humankind is yet to discover all the fauna and flora on this planet, so it should come as no surprise that there may be extra-terrestrial life that we also haven't yet discovered!

I am not at all sceptical about the possibility of life...even intelligent life..existing elsewhere...That is one BIG Universe out there.... What I AM sceptical about are the claims of (regular?) alien visitation... visitation that amazingly never leaves real evidence.... If alien spacecraft (and lets not even worry about distances/transit times) are visiting...why are they so coy? If they are capable of interstellar travel they are WAAY ahead of us and presumably would have bugger all to fear. Why not land in the middle of the Botanic Gardens? In Central Park?

Because the aliens, being smart cookies, understand that contact would destroy us.

Mysticism presents many arguments that are difficult for science to rebut.
There will not be any scientific proof one way or t'other, anytime soon.
Live and let live ; enjoy the comfort of proven science and enjoy the wonder of the rest

We are obviously not ready to handle contact. Some parts of humanity are very arrogant. Some parts are also very trigger happy.

Also we have no idea if they have left any evidence or not. Pyramids, Stonehenge and Easter Island are just some possibilities. There are more.

Everyone has a right to believe what they want to believe. Just because someone believes in something that someone else does not believe in does not give them the right to put down others who do not think the same.

What a lot of self-indulgent drivel. Pyramids, Stonehenge, Easter Island are creations of cough sapiens, no aliens, no little green men.

You can ‘choose’ to believe in fairies at the bottom of the garden as some did in the Victorian era if you wish but such belief is deluded and nonsensical. Society can’t base its behaviour and beliefs on nonsense with no falsifiable evidence.

Ah but wait! What about the number 37 repeated in our DNA? Is that evidence from the LGM?

How? That's the big question. You may be right but has anyone actually worked out how they did it (and there are other engineering impossibilities that exist).

Someone earlier mentioned the flat earth brigade, however the flat earth theory was pretty popular back before it was proven wrong. Only a few idiots believed the earth to be round, and even fewer were game enough to sail out to prove it ... at least that's the story. Maybe it was Martians who told them the truth! :)

Self indulgent drivel is just about right. When you find some evidence come back and see me.

In the mean time I'll keep an open mind and ask the questions instead of blindly following.

But there are people who believe in fake news and other beliefs in spite of facts.

The rock work in the sacred valley beats me ; I can find no rationalisation that meets my common sense test.
There are similar examples all around the world , the similarities and the technical and physical challenges are personally inexplicable
This phenomena enjoys top billing in my "wonder box", tagged how to mould rock…...

I remember watching a doco on someplace (which I promptly forgot the name) where large and extremely heavy rocks have been placed to do the seemingly impossible, like a pivoting door, perfectly balanced at the perfect pivot point that defies construction, even with our lifting equipment and skill of today. Certainly intriguing, if nothing else!

When you look at some of the rubbish coming out of both sides of parliament at the moment you wonder.
Ah now. If there were aliens, that's where you'd find them! In fact some have already been revealed!:p

Yes, Yes and Yes. The 'architects' and the 'workers camp/village' for Stonehenge has also recently been discovered with what appears to be 'models' in wood of the Stonehenge circle.

Wan't that one of Elon Musks points of recording video from his Tesla as it was sent on its way to Mars (now the Asteroid belt!:)).

That's fine. There are many people who believe in best-guess-at-the-monent theories and try to pass these off as facts.

Humanity knows very little about most things. As mentioned there are things that were done thousands of years ago and would be difficult with todays equipment.
