On recent flights between SYD and MEL I have noticed on 2 occassions, people in row 3 putting their feet on the bulkhead dividing J and Y cabins. On the flight to MEL my neighbour in 3C decided to slip off his shoes (left socks on) and put both feet on there. On the flight back to SYD my neighbour in 3A slipped off his shoes and put both bare feet on there. They weren't just above the magazine holder but literally at head height on full display for everyone. Who the hell are these people? And do they do this everytime they fly?? I would expect better manners from my 4yr old nephew.

I blame social media. You can be sure that some git's twitter feed contains a pic of said feet with a ripping remark along the lines of "I deserve to put my feet up in Row 3 after a hard day". Narcissists think that morons find that sort of thing interesting.

Sounds like you've had the perfect opportunity to get answers to your questions. Why didn't you enquire if it bothers you so much? Or perhaps point out that you found it offensive?

I find it a little bizarre that people will have an issue with something yet not do anything about it other than have a rant online.

It's the same on trains. It's the entitled generation.

It's all about avoiding confrontation.

Isn't there a 500 page thread on this already?

Time for a merging of threads perhaps?

It's disgusting, especially bare feet, but ranting doesn't help.

Either say something and try to fix the problem (at least for the flights you are on), or else resign yourself to not caring enough to try and change it and move on.

I have chosen the latter even though I agree with your comments about it being pretty nasty.

Don't think that there is a lot us as members of the public can do.
Complain to the "Cabin Manager"/purser/flight attendant, they probably would just shrug their shoulders.
Start a confrontation with the pax in question, they would then probably say you are harassing them, or they complain to the crew and you get taken away and spoken to by AFP "agents".
Not worth the trouble to cause a stink, or speak up when it comes to flights.
I am a school and shop cleaner, and I do see what the dregs of life think they have to right to do as they please.
